Our Asset Transactions & Advisory Services Division, within our Energy & Systems Solutions Operation, has an opportunity for a Hydroelectric Power Plant Sr Consultant. 

As the Subject Matter Expert primary responsibilities will include:

Provide technical evaluation and reviews of the overall design, construction, and operational analysis of hydroelectric power generation facilities, including related construction, interconnection, and power purchase agreements.  
Engage in both independent and owner engineering services providing our clients with the necessary technical knowledge and business expertise in order to make informed business decisions. Power generation projects that will be reviewed are diverse and range in complexity 
Work in a team environment supporting project managers throughout transactional due diligence



Qualifications:

  • Bachelors of Science in Civil or Mechanical Engineering required, with an advanced or degree in Engineering and/or Business/Finance preferred.
  • 12+ years of combined experience in Hydroelectric power generation assets. (candidates with an advanced degree can have a minimum of 10+ years of prior relevant experience).   
  • Experience with other renewable as well as conventional power generation technologies is preferred. (e.g., solar, wind, natural gas turbines, and coal technologies)
  • Expert knowledge of the overall of planning, design, construction and operation of Hydroelectric Power Facilities both conventional and pumped storage.  
  • Additional experience with other power generation technologies including renewable energy and conventional thermal generation is preferred.   
  • Commercial experience with procurement of A/E’s and EPC contractors.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. 
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team. 
  • Willingness to mentor others and be mentored by others in order to successfully meet Client and Company goals and objectives.
  • Ability to successfully meet deadlines under pressure.  Clients will include private equity, infrastructure, and hedge funds, investment and commercial banks, private developers, legal and financial advisors, original equipment providers, DOE, and EIA,
  • Successful track record maintaining client relations and working with clients (both internal and external)
  • Professional Engineering license is preferred.
  • The job may require as much as 35 percent travel
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.  
  • Possess excellent verbal and written skills
  • Spanish language skills are a plus
