Senior Systems Engineer
Leidos Exploitation and Visualization Services (EVS) are hiring DevOPS Engineers for the Exploitation Services (program) which is implementing and delivering the next generation of Geospatial Intelligence technologies for the government. The effort will harness GOTS, COTS and FOSS technologies to deliver advanced exploitation services. The program will build and deliver new and innovative approaches to implement Geospatial Intelligence exploitation and production using web and cloud technologies. This requisition is looking for a DevOPS engineer to join the Exploitation Services (program) Agile team. They will participate in 2 week sprints during which they will collaborate with the customer and team to define, build and test exploitation and enterprise services. They will be expected to be strong contributors to the scrum team, participating in daily scrums, and being proactive to work tasks and resolve obstacles. In addition to service development and delivery, they will provide support to DRs detected by testers or in operations. The candidate will be responsible for the following: New system deployments and accreditation Regular system updates and maintenance Coordination with site ISP, accreditation team, and testing organization Ensuring systems are properly tested/configured/deployed at all stages of their lifecycle Reporting system status and conducting weekly customer tag-ups Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Experience with modern software architectures and platforms Understanding of the agile principles and scrum methodology Enthusiasm for working in a high performing team environment and collaborating with customers and users to define scope and design Self-motivated to learn new skills for solving challenging engineering, scientific and information technology challenges Experience automated deployment, CHEF, Cloud Formation. Systems Testing, Verification Experience writing and maintaining Linux shell scripts and Windows Powershell scripts Remotely administering and troubleshooting Red Hat Linux and Windows servers. Operating Systems experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, ESXi (virtualization), VMware, and Windows Server Experience with Amazon Web Services and J2EE application servers Experience with and understanding of geospatial and imagery exploitation products and processes Knowledge of the Jira Project & Issue Tracking SW. Knowledge of SharePoint Collaboration Tool Systems Administration experience, including ability to install O/S patches and troubleshoot on Windows and Linux systems
Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree. Considered career, or journey, level.
