Description:
Leidos has an opening for a Quality Assurance Engineer to support the Assembled Chemical Weapons Alternatives (ACWA) programs BGCAPP Field Office (FO) providing technical input during the systemization, pilot testing, operations, and closure of the BGCAPP, including the Main Plant and the SDC.  This position is located in Richmond, KY.


JOB SUMMARY: 

The primary responsibilities of the Quality Assurance Engineer shall perform document reviews, technical research, and provide technical input associated with the Systems Contractor’s activities to provide the necessary information for the Government to perform their oversight mission. The Quality Assurance Engineer shall perform project related risk and quality management activities as specified by the SPM or Government SME for the functional area.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 


The Quality Assurance Engineer shall serve the BGCAPP FO as the primary technical resource for quality. The Quality Assurance Engineer shall review and evaluate the SC Quality Assurance programs and processes. The Quality Assurance Engineer will coordinate with other FO SMEs to maintain an ongoing review of SC quality assurance documents, processes and efforts to assure their continuing compliance with programmatic requirements. These documents include, but are not limited to, QA/QC plans and procedures, QA training documents, quality related ECP, and inspection reports. The support contractor shall observe BPBG-JV execution of their quality program.

The Quality Assurance Engineer will be the primary interface with the HQ on quality assurance. The Quality Assurance Engineer shall support the Government Internal Controls Programs by reviewing requirements, scheduling internal control reviews, assisting with gathering data, preparation of reports, etc. The Quality Assurance Engineer will review Field Reports, Surveillance Reports, and Assessment Plans and Reports for effectiveness and compliance with field office plans and field office procedures. The Quality Assurance Engineer shall stay current with HQ regulations, pamphlets, guidance, Army regulations, and other applicable requirements to ensure communication of requirements throughout the FO and shall review field office plans and field office procedures to assure requirements are incorporated into them as appropriate. The Quality Assurance Engineer will compile a summary of Field Reports, Surveillance Reports, and Assessment Reports; conducted IAW the FO Oversight Plan on a weekly and monthly basis and provide an evaluation of any positive or negative trends.

Qualifications:
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: 

Four year degree in engineering, mathematics or physical sciences. 
Professional competence and experience in applying the concepts, principles, and practices of quality management/quality assurance processes including experience in: conducting surveys, assessments, evaluations, audits, and surveillances; performing special studies relating to quality; evaluating quality aspects of facility design, mechanical and chemical processes. Comprehensive knowledge of the chemical demilitarization program sufficient to develop new policies, procedures, oversight techniques and process evaluation in chemical demilitarization systemization, operations and closure.
Must be a US Citizen willing to obtain a Secret clearance.
