Description:
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The mission of the Data Science and Information Technology Program (DSITP) is to develop an enterprise-level, consolidated information technology infrastructure that provides exceptional IT capabilities to the Frederick National Labs for Cancer Research (NCI-Frederick/FNLCR) in support of basic, translational, and clinical cancer and AIDS research. The Biomedical Informatics Applications Development (BIAD)Group is part of the DSITP within Leidos Biomedical Research. The BIAD team is primarily involved in the development of the projects sponsored by NCI. Currently BIAD is developing the following high visibility projects NCI MATCH https://www.cancer.gov/about-cancer/treatment/clinical-trials/nci-supported/nci-match , Pediatric MATCH https://www.cancer.gov/about-cancer/treatment/clinical-trials/nci-supported/pediatric-match and NCI CTRP https://www.cancer.gov/about-nci/organization/ccct/ctrp.

JOB DESCRIPTION
This position description does not represent a current opening but may be used to identify candidates with skills and experience for positions within Leidos Biomedical Research that frequently become available. Candidates who express an interest may be considered for future positions at Leidos Biomedical Research.


The successful candidate will be responsible for developing automated tests for cutting edge clinical research software applications. Responsibilities include: designing, and writing automated tests using Ruby, JavaScript, Python or Java on a Mac OS X environment to ensure that the application meets software technical and business requirements. Ability to work in an agile continuous integration environment. Ability to work independently and as well with other team members.


Qualifications:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:

  • Possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university according to the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) in computer science. (Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education). 
  • Foreign degrees must be evaluated for U. S. equivalency
  • This position is subject to obtaining and maintaining a Public Trust Clearance
  • Eight (8) years of relevant experience in software engineering

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:

  • Good understanding of non-SQL and or SQL DB
  • Proficient in Git/GitHub or any similar source code management tools
  • Webdriver, Protractor, Cucumber 
  • Good Oral and Written communication
  • Good understanding of software testing techniques
