Maritime Systems Engineer
The Maritime Systems Engineer is responsible for technical planning, system hardware-software-network design, development and integration, verification and validation, and fielding of maritime systems. Evaluates alternatives including cost and risk, supportability and analyses for total systems. Duties include performing systems requirements analysis, functional analysis, timeline analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition, technical management, integration, system testing, and quality assurance. This position will involve the recommendation and development of new technical solutions, products, and/or standards in support of customer acquisitions and operations and will serve as a subject matter expert within the maritime domain area.
A successful candidate will be show the ability to influence the development of highly innovative solutions achieved through research and integration of best practices that impact strategic project/program goals and business results.
Requires BS degree in engineering or a related field and 12 - 15 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 10 - 13 years of prior relevant experience.
Requires specific knowledge of and experience with systems engineering and integration in the maritime domain.
Requires an in-depth understanding of systems engineering principles, theories, concepts and their application, with a specialized ability to tailor them as appropriate across a broad range of programs.
Requires the ability to communicate with and advise customer leadership regarding technical matters of significant importance within.
Requires significant experience in Maritime communications
Requires awareness of the use of Unmanned systems in the maritime environment
