Distribution Engineer – Seattle, WA

We are seeking a Distribution Engineer with 2 - 4 years of prior experience with an electric utility or design consultant.  


Participating in the review of by 3rd party Joint Use Customer Engineering documents, as well as both the assessment and development of design packages for overhead distribution projects in urban and rural environments ensuring compliance with client's engineering and construction specifications
Coordination with 3rd party utilities, work permit development, ensuring quality control and maintaining compliance with project scope, schedule and budget.  
Conducting field investigations of overhead electric distribution systems.  
Using a smart data collection device called IKE 4 to capture geolocation and measurement of overhead distribution assets including communications & cable television conductors that are attached to wood utility poles. Additionally, the IKE 4 combines features such as laser range finder, camera, compass and GPS  
**Note: Training on the use of the IKE 4 will be provided to the successful candidate.  
Work assignments will include travelling by motor vehicle to various project locations located throughout the Seattle area to conduct field investigations. Collect data and return to the engineering office as necessary.




Bachelors of Science in an engineering discipline and 2 - 4 years of experience electric utility and/or design consultant with design experience   
Familiarity with the National Electric Safety Code, SPIDACalc structural analysis software, ArcFM GIS, and AutoCAD design software is a plus.
Ability to follow safe work practices, prescribed standards and procedures 
Ability to work effectively in teams.
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills.
Must be able to lift 20 pounds.
Must be able to walk long distances in an outdoor environment.
