Description:

The Defense & Intelligence Group has a current opening for a Senior Systems Engineer at our Customer site in Springfield, VA

This full-time position as a Sr. Systems Engineer provides support to a Research and Development Intelligence Community entity performing technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Perform as a Data Scientist to support the practices of continuous integration and continuous delivery and deployment through the automation of application builds and compute environments. Deliver and configure deployment environments tailored to various roles, including development, testing, and operations on actual servers and in virtualized environments, including KVM, AWS, or VMware. Work with development teams to ensure their applications can be deployed and maintained at scale using automation.


Qualifications:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

-12+ years of experience with development in Java, JavaScript, C#, C++, or other high level languages
-Experience with Cloud architecture and development, including Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Commerical Cloud Services (C2S)
-Experience with build server, including Jenkins or Bamboo and infrastructure automation, including Puppet or Chef -Experience with version control systems such as Github or Gitlab.
-Experience with building applications in a compiled language
-Knowledge of Basic Linux and UNIX system administration
-BS degree in a related field -TS/SCI clearance

At least 9 years of relevant work experience with Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree (may substitute 7 years of additional relevant work experience for Bachelor's and 3 years for a Master's Degree)


DESIRED SKILLS;
- Experience with spending time as a developer in any of the popular languages to assist other developers with build automation
- Experience with a variety of build tools, including Maven, Gradle, CMake, or SBT and OS Packaging, including RPM or Deb
- Experience with implementing Secure Socket Layer (SSL) solutions
- Experience with implementing Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) solutions
- Experience with Hadoop, Accumulo, Kafka or Spark
- Knowledge of advanced system administration a plus
MS degree in a related field
