The Advanced Solutions Group (ASG) at Leidos currently has an opening for an Engineering Technician to support contracts on Wright-Patterson AFB in Dayton, OH.  The Engineering Technician will join a growing, high-performance team performing applied research and development in electro-optical technology.  The successful candidate will work under engineers' direction to execute test plans to perform data collection, perform testbed maintenance, assist with testbed development, and operate data collection equipment in the field.

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Work independently as well as with a team, demonstrate excellent problem solving skills, and be self-motivated.  
- Fabricate basic mechanical parts and fixtures using in-house CNC, milling machine, bench lathes and drills.
- Fabricate basic electronics and custom cables and test to verify functionality.
- Assemble opto-mechanical testbeds.
- Troubleshoot, modify and replace defective circuitry and electronics components.  
- Calibrate and operate electronic test equipment.
- Identify and resolve problems with commercial equipment, working with manufacturers to get replacement parts.  
- Perform preventative maintenance and calibration of equipment and systems.
- Specify and purchase raw materials, components, and assemblies, as well as assemble and troubleshoot electronic systems.
- Document work through reports and drawings.
- On the job specialized training will be provided.

To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below
- Must have a Secret security clearance and be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.  
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology or a related field with up to 2 years of experience, preferably in a lab environment.  
- Ability to fabricate basic mechanical and electronic parts.
- Ability to troubleshoot, modify, and replace circuitry.
- Ability to troubleshoot problems with commercial equipment.
- Ability to perform maintenance and calibration of equipment and systems.
- Willingness and ability to quickly learn and to retain new skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration
- Experience with opto-mechnical parts.
