Leidos Civil Transportation and Finance Solutions Group is seeking an experienced professional to lead the engineering development team for the Geostationary Satellite Service Lease program. The candidate will be responsible for the system architecture, design, and implementation, as well as test / sell off of all requirements to ensure the systems meets the end-to-end technical requirements of the program.  The candidate will drive the full lifecycle effort across all Engineering domains with a focus on development, analytics, system functionality and customer satisfaction.
Other responsibilities may include:
- Collaborate with RF waveform and algorithm designers to implement novel waveforms in RF hardware
- Design and integrate components to achieve desired RF waveform characteristics
- Design, configure/install, and operate data collection and instrumentation for field testing
- Document hardware designs, issues and solutions, and test results




The candidate must have experience in the design of satellite communications and/or navigation systems, and must be comfortable with working directly with FAA Customer to discuss operations issues, troubleshooting system level anomalies and providing analyses and support to the earth station sites and FAA as needed.  Experience with GPS, including familiarity with GPS signal structure, modulation, Code Carrier Coherence, and Correlation Loss is strongly preferred.  Candidate must have systems engineering knowledge with an emphasis on RF and analyses.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Typically requires BS degree and 8 – 12 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6 – 10 years of prior relevant experience. May possess a Doctorate in technical domain. Satellite / RF Engineering or Systems Engineering degree highly preferred.
