Leidos Corporation is currently under contract with the Dept. of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) to provide HUD Information Technology Services (HITS).
Leidos Civil Exploration and Mission Support Group is seeking a college graduate (Computer/System/Software Engineering or Computer Science degree preferred) to provide Software Engineering support to the HITS Data Center and Operations Team as a junior Software Engineer.
The candidate will be responsible for learning existing/legacy system architecture, design, functions and capabilities to support the design and implementation of new capabilities and enhancements.
We are seeking a candidate with the following experience:
· Administration experience in a MS Windows environment with some knowledge of server hardware, account and file security;
· Strong knowledge of Windows API;
· Ability to write small programs in JAVA, Python C, or C++ ;
· Scripting ability in Perl, Python, PowerShell, Visual Basic, .Net, Windows Batch or other government specified language.
Windows Active Directory and Visual Basic;
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
The candidate must have a good academic understanding and/or exposure to software development practices to contribute to and/or assist with software development and maintenance, system architecture, and system concept development. The candidate will be expected to develop code in an agile methodology and occasionally participate in software development lifecycle activities.
Education and Experience:
Typically requires BS degree or equivalent experience and less than 2 years prior relevant experience.
Excellent written/verbal skills with the ability to interpret and author well-formed documents.
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
Demonstrate good judgment in solving problems as well as identifying problems in advance, and proposing solutions
Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen or US Permanent Residents willing and able to submit to and obtain a “Public Trust” background investigation.
