The Defense & Intelligence Group has a current part time opening for a Computer Software Scientist in Springfield, VA.

Join the Innovision Futures Support Program as a part-time Computer Software Scientist. This position provides support to a Research and Development Intelligence Community entity that will bring scientific radar algorithms to a web-based environment for analysts to use. The successfull candidate will Description: Perform highly complex analysis, design, development, testing, and debugging of computer software in support of distinct product hardware or technical service lines of businesses. Develop and apply advanced methods, theories, and research techniques in the investigation and solution of complex and advanced software applications and problems. Plan and conduct major technical phases of significant projects by coordinating the efforts of technical support staff and the performance of assigned projects. Review the completion and implementation of technical products and evaluate vendors’ capabilities. Assist with training less experienced software engineer staff. This position is not available for remote delivery.

Duties include but are not limited to: Develops computer systems specifications that fit with the government's system architecture standards. Establishes and documents system parameters and formats, ensures hardware and software systems compatibility and coordinates and/or modifies system parameters in terms of existing and projected computer capacity and capabilities. Revises existing systems and procedures to correct deficiencies and maintain more effective data handling, conversion, input/output requirements, and storage.


- 7 years of experience with developing software solutions using Java 
- 5 years of experience with GIS technologies such as Google Earth, KML/KMZ, and DEM/SRTM data 
- Experience using Docker, and a basic understanding of AWS resources 
- TS/SCI clearance 
- BA or BS degree and 18 years of experience with developing software solutions or MA or MS degree and 15 years of experience with developing software solutions. 
- Greater than 15 years of relevant work experience with Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree (may 7 years of additional relevant work experience for Bachelor's and 3 years for a Master's Degree)

Additional Quals: 
- Knowledge of NGA and the intelligence community
- Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
