Leidos has an immediate requirement on the Kodiak contract for an entry level Applications Developer to develop and enhance enterprise and/or departmental IT systems. This position requires in-depth hands-on experience developing software in a team environment, where customer focus, cooperation, communication and continual trade-craft improvements are the norm. This position is located in the Herndon area.
This position combines applications development with database programming.
Applications Development: Design programmatic solution-based systems against customer requirements; write applications in a development environment; create test data; perform multiple tests, and support production system as needed. Database Programming: Perform maintenance and updates, back-ups and recovery, performance tuning and use of Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL.
Other ad hoc duties may include but are not limited to process evaluation, review of new products, collection of data and reports generation, etc.
* Bachelor’s degree in a field directly related to information technology or equivalent certifications/experience.
*Java, C#, SQL
* Excellent communications skills
* Ability to adapt to a constantly evolving work environment
* Ability to work well with others, independently and in a team, including those from other offices and/or contracts
* Experience with the customer's classified network is a major plus.
