Leidos seeks an Industrial Energy Advisor to both market and support energy-efficiency projects in support of the Ameren Illinois Energy Efficiency business program. The right candidate for this role will preferably be located in St Louis, MO, Peoria, IL or Springfield, IL area and work remotely. Travel within the state will range between 10 - 50%.

The person in this position broadly implements and markets an energy efficiency program with primary focus on the largest of energy-consuming customers. The position will require the ability to work on a range of projects from screening of applications, maintaining industry relationships, executing programs, delivering presentations, participating in promotional events, performing sector market analysis and providing input in developing/modifying programs to meet changing market needs. The Industrial Energy Advisor will directly market and coordinate program services to large industrial, manufacturing, commercial, and businesses/organizations that support the energy consuming systems in facilities on behalf of utility-sponsored energy efficiency programs. This person will coordinate and educate customers, and provide training for internal and external clients on energy related issues. Will work closely with facility owners, contractors, suppliers, and engineers to encourage energy efficiency practices in both existing and new facilities. The candidate should have basic general knowledge of manufacturing/industrial systems, construction practices, and/or the energy efficiency industry. Must be highly motivated, well organized, self-starting, have strong written and verbal communication skills, and work well in a team setting. Willingness to learn, grow and expand capabilities. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.



Required Skills: Must be able to utilize initiative to develop relationships with customers, vendors and professional organizations to keep up to date and demonstrate knowledge of operational trends, energy efficiency technologies, practices, and regulations in electric and natural gas demand side management. Excellent written and verbal communications are essential. Proficiency with Microsoft Office software is required. It is critical that productivity and accuracy be demonstrated in performance of work. This position requires a valid driver’s license and physical ability to perform field verification of pre and post installation of energy efficiency measures.

Education: Four-year Engineering/technical degree and/or at least 5 years of relevant industrial/manufacturing experience such as with maintenance, project management, energy programs, utility account representation, key account management, or in the energy efficiency industry is desired. Advanced education is a plus.
