The Advanced Solutions Group (ASG) at Leidos has a career opening for a Simulation Software Engineer located in Dayton / Beavercreek, OH. This position is in support of the Air Force Research Laboratory, Warfighter Readiness Research Division in the development of secure software for Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) simulation environments, including environments that support multi/cross-domain security.

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Support software development activities, execute technical tasks throughout the software development lifecycle, research new technologies, and adhere to best practices based on customer requirements and goals. 
- Work with a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) to implement Data Disclosure Lists (DDLs).  This will require close coordination with the CISSP, information security architects, and other software engineers to ensure that the DDL is properly implemented and validated.
- Design and implement software modifications for new and existing Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS) simulations.
- Support Distributed Mission Operations (DMO) and LVC training and exercise events.
- When needed, may also work with the SW engineering team to develop and/or integrate software components for application development, and conduct unit testing to ensure all unit-level requirements are satisfied. Duties will include executing all levels of testing and validation events as well as the test and build process to ensure that developed/integrated software components function and interoperate as required within and between systems.

To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below
- Bachelor’s Degree and 4+ years’ or a Master’s and 2+ years of experience in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.  
- Must have an Interim Secret Security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance.
- In-depth knowledge of and experience with object-oriented programming in C/C++ and Java.
- Proficiency developing software on Windows and Red Hat and/or similar Linux systems.
- Experience developing software for LVC systems using DIS Protocol Data Units (PDUs) or other simulation communication protocol.
- Ability to work independently and as part of an engineering team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration
- Experience with existing Cross-Domain solutions and devices.
- Experience working in multi/cross-domain security environments.
- Experience with Distributed Mission Operations (DMO) training and exercise events.
-       Experience working on and configuring secure networks.
