Description:

The Civil Health Operation is seeking a Technologist / Engineering SME, contingent upon contract award, in Bethesda, MD.


A senior position with candidate serving as an internal technical consultant / SME guiding the team on day-to-day delivery of best practice Service Desk, Desktop Engineering, and Infrastructure Operations support for an enterprise environment servicing 3,000+ end devices. An experienced professional with hands-on experience in enterprise desktop deployment and managing, including oversight of application packaging, deployment, documentation, release control, baseline desktop image creation for multiple hardware platforms.


Main Responsibilities:
• Lead and support a team of technicians and engineers to design, implement, integrate, and continuously improving technical capabilities supporting an enterprise IT environment
• Provide technical leadership and guide the team to support strategic planning, technology roadmap development, problem resolution, requirements analysis, concept of operations development, and systems engineering projects
• Guide and support cross functional teams providing service desk, infrastructure operations, Agile- / DevOps-based software development, and security support services


Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
• 10+ years of experience and successful track record of organizing and leading teams to deliver exceptional IT support services within enterprise environments
• Experience as a manager, project manager, and / or technical team lead for enterprise IT projects
• Experience using industry best practices such as ITIL/ITSM, Agile, and/or Kanban delivery framework
• Experience with designing, implementing, and managing highly complex technical solutions including server architecture, datacenter architecture, security architecture, and DR/COOP architecture
• Experience supporting a large campus enterprise IT environment
• Experience with vendor management
• Experience providing technical advisory services to Government or commercial clients at the CxO level
• Ability to foster a positive, supportive, team oriented work environment, and continuously improve operational processes and practices
• Ability to provide coaching, technical guidance, and training to team members
• Ability to guide the team and directly assist in developing standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, policies and procedures
• US Citizen or US Person (Green Card Holder) with the ability to obtain a security clearance

Required Technical Knowledge:
• Hands-on experience with enterprise IT tools / technologies including but not limited to:
o Operating systems and hardware platform such as Windows (7 and 10, and server platforms), Linux, and Apple OS X
o Desktop imaging creation, test, validation, and distribution tools such as JAMF Casper Service, MDT, or SCCM; and desktop encryption technologies
o Tools such as Software Distribution and Patch Management (Tivoli TEM/BigFix, Microsoft SCCM), Privilege Escalation such as PowerBroker, Virtualization (VMware), DR/COOP (AWS or Azure), Performance Monitoring (Solarwinds, Splunk), and Enterprise print services
o MS Windows network infrastructure, including Active Directory and Group Policy, directory services such as LDAP
o VMWare ESXi/vSphere environment for enterprise environments, advanced VMware concepts such as vSphere Distributed Switch (vDS), Site Recovery Manager (SRM), vSphere Storage I/O Control (SIOC), VMware Network Virtualization and Security Platform (NSX), Update Manager
o Cloud strategies and knowledge of AWS, Azure, or others
o Security vulnerability scanning and remediation tools
o Networking technologies (LAN, MAN, WAN)
o Database server architecture
o Datacenter design and operations
Additional Desirable Qualifications:
• Certifications such as ITILv3/ITSM, MCSE, CCNP, CCIE, CISSP, or Apple certifications
• Agile, Scrum, or Kanban certification / experience
• PMP certification
• Experience with ServiceNow, remote control/remote support tools, and troubleshooting/diagnostics tools
• Familiarity with health IT environments
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• BA or BS degree (advanced degree preferred)
