Mission Systems Flight Instructor
Leidos has a career opening for a Mission Systems Flight Instructor for the Airborne Reconnaissance Low - Enhanced (ARL-E) program located in Aberdeen, MD.
ARL-E is a five year program to design, develop, integrate, test and deliver nine Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) aircraft to the US Army. The ARL-E Flight Instructor is a member of the training team and is responsible to the Training Lead for curriculum development, validation, and instruction of all ARL-E training material.
This involves working with product team leads and subcontractors to ensure all training information is complete and accurate, coordinating schedules for validation of training material, and providing quality in-flight instruction to active duty soldiers, ensuring they are deployment ready at the completion of training.
Roles and Responsibilities:
--Create, validate and execute ground based academic training in a classroom
- Create, validate and execute mission oriented, scenario based flight training
- Create, maintain, and document student training progress, using appropriate Army standards and forms
- Create, update and modify training items in appropriate Army databases
- Assist with test and evaluation of MEP systems as part of validation of training
External Referral Eligible
-Experience with Airborne ISR, specifically in the areas of training and testing
-Tactical experience working with ground teams from the air
-Understanding of aircraft operations with respect to safety of operations, personnel, and equipment.
-Ability to travel at a minimum of 40% of the time.
-Ability to provide meaningful verbal and written feedback to students
-Knowledge and experience with Imagery and/or SIGINT collection and analysis.
-Must have had an active TS/SCI clearance in last 24 months.
-Experience with MS Office
-BA/BS degree and 2 years’ operational experience. 3-5 years of applicable operational experience may be acceptable in lieu of a degree.
Preferred Qualifications:- Ability to obtain TS/SCI withm Poly clearance.
-Experience as a formal schoolhouse military flight instructor
-Experience providing Tactical ISR support to Special Operations Forces
-Knowledge and experience with more than one of the following sensors:
-MX Series EO/IR sensors, Radar, VaDER, HyperSpectral, COMINT/SIGINT
-Knowledge and experience Training Development Capability (TDC)
-Army Basic Instructor Course (ABIC) or equivalent
-Current Class II flight Physical
-Current Altitude Chamber
