Description:

The Advanced Solutions Group (ASG) at Leidos currently has an opening for a Chief Engineer to work in our Annapolis Junction, MD office. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience supporting a mission critical program.

The Chief Engineer will provide technical leadership and direction from concept through development and integration to deployment of a large complex system. The candidate will have demonstrable skills in use case development, CONOP development, requirements derivation, and verification. Recent experience in an operational environment is strongly encouraged.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: As a technical expert in systems engineering, the individual will be responsible for day-to-day technical direction for the design and development of a cutting edge technology system. He/she will serve as the interface between the following groups: software development, testing, integration, deployment, and sustainment. Lead and take on technologically challenging tasks, provide guidance to development teams, and perform in accordance with and guide implementation of CMMI Level 3 best practices. This position will report to the Program Management Office and will be required to communicate frequently with sub-contractors and customers.

Qualifications:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: 
Masters Degree  in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering or Computer Science, and 15+ years’ experience; additional experience or degree can offset total years of experience

Ability to travel between approximately 10% during the period of performance.

Excellent written and communication skills.

Systems Engineering experience to include Agile Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) support and providing technical direction of complex projects with increasing responsibility.
 
Experience providing technical leadership and direction to support sound system engineering concepts.

Experience should include one or more of the following: system architecture; high level system requirements management including requirements decomposition; secure systems engineering and development, trade-off analysis to determine best technology; Interface control; Test

Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and vision


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
MS in a related field with 10 years related  experience

Recent experience at a similar cyber security operational organization

Supervisory experience of individuals within the following groups: software development, testing, integration, deployment, and sustainment.

Familiarity with CMMI ML3 best practices and agile methodologies.

Familiarity with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS)

CISSP® - Certified Information Systems Security Professional
CSM (Certified Scrum Master).
