Distribution Planning and Analysis Engineer –Detroit

Leidos is seeking a Distribution Planning and Analysis Engineer, who will provide Distribution planning and analysis consulting services as an engineer, working on-site at a client’s office in a team atmosphere.
Responsibilities:

Execution of distribution planning, arc flash and coordination studies, as project and client needs dictate: studies will include load flow for both traditional distribution planning studies and for studies driven by regulatory compliance requirements.
Develop circuit reliability analysis and engineering of system resiliency circuits
Develop work descriptions, sketches, improvement proposals and presentations
Participate in internal engineering peer review of proposals
Create work orders in MAXIMO for detailed design
Conduct field patrols of client facilities

Qualifications:

Typically requires Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering and 4 – 8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2 – 6 years of prior relevant experience in distribution analytics, e.g., load flow studies, protection and short circuit studies, and be knowledgeable of various power system theories and limitations. Experience with arc flash studies and stability studies a plus.
Possess solid analytical distribution experience, including load flow for both traditional planning studies and for studies driven by regulatory compliance requirements.  
Familiarity and experience with distribution policy and regulatory issues is also considered a plus, including experience with arc flash assessments 
Must have experience functioning in a technical role in distribution studies and capable of conducting studies under the direction of a technical supervisor.  
Experience with Cyme’s Cymdist required; DEW, ETAP, EasyPower, DNV GL’s Synergi, Milsoft’s WindMil, Siemens PTI’s PSS/E or GE Concordia’s PSLF,. EMTP or PSCAD experience is a plus. ASPEN OneLiner or Electrocon’s CAPE software experience also a plus. 
Must possess strong communication skills, including listening, writing, and presentation skills
Must be a team player, able to work collaboratively with many different people with diverse backgrounds and geographic locations
