Description:
The Leidos National Airspace System Integration Support Contract (NISC III) team. The Mechanical Engineer (Fuel Storage Systems) is a technical expert in the design and operation of fuel storage tanks. The position will provide technical assistance and subject matter expertise to the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Fuel Storage Tank National Program Office in the areas of storage tank regulatory compliance and operations. FAA projects involve propane, diesel, gasoline, and waste oil AST and UST systems in support of Nation Program Office initiatives. Responsibilities in this area include static, dynamic design and analysis of mechanical systems, equipment and packages. The Mechanical Engineer may conduct feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs, providing direct support concerning detailed design, design testing and prototype fabrication. 

Develops products, solutions, processes using basic principles, theories and concepts within own technical specialty. 

Communicates with peers to explain facts, basic analysis, processes and practices related to area. Requires basic knowledge of and ability to apply principles, theories, and concepts of narrow technical domain.

Qualifications:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Typically requires BS degree or equivalent experience and less than 2 years prior relevant experience.
