Global Information Grid (GIG) Service Management-Operations (GSM-O), a Defense and Intelligence Group of Leidos has an opening for a Network Administration and Operations Analyst at the DISA SOCOM Field Command (USSOCOM) on MacDill AFB, FL.


Job Summary

The Network Administration and Operations Analyst will serve as a liaison between DISA and the USSOCOM field office to help provide on-site assistance and continuity to the DISA SOCOM Field Office in support of all DISA NetOps activities supporting USSOCOM.  This support will enable Command and Control (C2) of the Department of Defense Information Network (DODIN) by ensuring its overall health through 24/7 monitoring, directing, controlling, coordination, de-conflicting, synchronizing, and reporting to the end-level customer (USSOCOM) and ensuring USSOCOM’s needs and requirements are submitted to DISA.


The candidate will support GSMO Task Order 31.


Primary Responsibilities

The position will require the candidate to work on the USSOCOM Ops Center watch floor. Work directly with USSOCOM and serves as a local liaison for all DISA scheduled and unscheduled NetOps events impacting or potentially impacting USSOCOM missions or any of their assigned subordinates, components, regions, sectors and/or partners.


Provide an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the physical layer of the DODIN and how it supports DISA’s mission to provide combat support.  The agency provides, operates, and assures command and control and information-sharing capabilities and a globally accessible enterprise information infrastructure in direct support to joint warfighters, national level leaders, and other mission and coalition partners across the full spectrum of military operations. 


Use network monitoring tools to identify problems and prepare an analysis of the problem and how it impacts the customer’s mission. Provide problem determination/resolution based upon personal experience, expert opinion and standard operating procedures, including immediate resolution where possible. 


Execute in real time, in accordance with mission requirements:

-Maintain and provide Situational Awareness (SA) with respect to the status of the transport supporting the DISN. This includes status/restoral process of IAP's, TOT's and high level high capacity circuits/trunks and links.

-Good communication of the status of the network/mission:

-Provide a verbal or chat message to USSOCOM Watch leadership of incidents within 10 minutes of discovery

-Provide a written SITREP within 30 minutes of discovery

-Provide updated SITREPs with 30 minutes of notification of changes

-All reports must be as accurate as the original data source. Written reports should be free of spelling errors and grammatically coherent.

-Able to under very general supervision. Provides solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity.

-Brief senior leaders (both verbally and written) on the status of the network


This position is a shift work position and could require you to work Day shift, Afternoons, or Overnight, as well as, potentially weekends and/or holidays.


Basic Qualifications:

-Active TS/SCI security clearance.

-Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline and 2 years of overall related experience. 4+ years of additional related years of experience is accepted in lieu of a degree.

-Familiarity with the DISA OSS

-Experience with various Microsoft technologies such as MS Office 2013 (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and SharePoint

-Experience with system applications:

      -Global Ticket Management System (GTMS) Remedy

      -World Wide Online System (WWOLS), NCCM-R, or Telecommunications   Certification Office Support System (TCOSS)

-Knowledge of Authorized Service Interruptions (ASI) process

-Good oral and written communication skills

-Strong interpersonal, organizational and problem solving skills

-The individual needs to be flexible, dependable and be able to multi-task with priorities.


Preferred Qualifications:

-Currently possess DoD 8750 certification at IAT level II, Security+ce, CISSP.

-Experience with support applications:

      -Mission Assurance Decision Support System (MADSS)

      -Integrated Network Management System (INMS)

      -Direct Connect Online (DCO)



-Experience briefing Senior Leaders

-Demonstrated experience of providing excellent customer service
