Description:
The Leidos Civil Group has an immediate need for a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the field of high performance computing to support the NNSA Office of Defense Programs (NA-10) and other federal customers. The SME will provide NNSA with technical support by making recommendations to Federal customers regarding strategic program directions. This position may require national and international travel to participate in strategic planning meetings, workshops, and other technical and management activities. This position is located in Washington, DC.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide SME support to the NNSA Office of Defense Programs (NA-10). Duties include:
• Participation in vendor meetings.
• Development of an Advanced Simulation and Computing Platform Strategy.
• Advising NNSA on vendor activities and strategic directions.


Qualifications:
REQUIRED CLEARANCE:
• This position requires a DOE Q clearance or a DOD Top Secret clearance.
• This work will require access to the DOE facilities in Washington, DC.

REQUIRED SKILLS/EDUCATION:
• Master's degree in computer technology or similar is preferred and have more than 15 years of experience working in fields associated with advanced computing.
• Must have demonstrated experience in oversight of mission-relevant computing projects, interaction with the NNSA national security laboratories, familiarity with computer simulation tools relevant to the US nuclear stockpile.
• Must have the ability to work independently to uncover and resolve complex problems with the development, coordination and implementation of broad simulation and computing programs.
• Must have knowledge of computing industry trends.
• Must have an understanding of NNSA modeling and simulation and computing requirements.
• Must have an understanding of vendor eco-system in high performance computing.
• Strong interpersonal skills are essential for this position.
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in the MS Office suite with particular emphasis on word processing, presentation and spreadsheet applications (MS Word, MS PowerPoint and MS Excel).

DESIRED SKILLS/EDUCATION:
• Demonstrated experience in positions of management and leadership high performance computing research and development and/or computing center operations.
• Professional network of contacts within the high performance computing industry, as well as familiarity with research and development in the area of petaflop-scale computing further enhance a candidate’s qualifications.
