Vocational English Mentor
The Defense & Intelligence Group of Leidos has an opening for a Vocational English Mentor (VEM) in Kabul, Afghanistan.
A VEM’s primary role is to coach and mentor Afghan military personnel in English skills that are directly related to their jobs. VEMs must shadow mentees on the job and identify necessary English skills and deficiencies of each mentee. VEMs must then develop mini-lessons, briefings, and role-plays to deliver to mentees. VEMs continuously shadow and coach mentees on the job to ensure English communication between Afghan mentees, U.S. military personnel, and contractors is accurate and adequate. This position must be able to adapt and use self study to be able to identify and instruct on skill specific vocabulary, specific office conversational skills, identify aircraft parts and systems, usage of Task Cards if applicable, and aircraft checklists. Quarterly evaluations for each group of mentees will be created and administered to track progress and proficiency.
