Description:
Deputy Project Manager/AFSS
Leidos is in search of a Deputy Project Manager to support the Automated Flight Services Station (AFSS) Program Manager.  The Automated Flight Service Station (AFSS) program encompasses the design, engineering, and deployment of entirely new state-of-the-art facilities. AFSS is a network of air traffic facilities that collect process and deliver aeronautical and meteorological information to promote safe and expeditious flight throughout the continental United States (CONUS), Hawaii, and San Juan, Puerto Rico.  
The DPM will report directly to the Program Manager and be co-responsible for all aspects of program execution along with the Program Manager.  The DPM will run the day to day program management functions to ensure successful program execution, status reporting, cost control, risk and issues management and communications flow between the functional organizations.   The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing an operational project with 24/7 support of a geographically dispersed workforce. The DPM will also be jointly responsible for planning, directing, scheduling, and executing all SOW elements including task orders.
Responsibilities will include:
Preparing presentations and metrics material for program status reporting
Performing day to day activities in areas of program management, finance, budgeting, financial planning, risk management and analysis, management reporting and data maintenance
Assist Program Office and Financial personnel with special projects
Assist in creating OCG task order proposals for delivery to FAA customer
Participate in all project reviews, operational meetings, & briefings 



Qualifications:


Typically requires a BA/BS and 12+ years of prior relevant experience managing US Government programs/projects of over $10M per year or Masters with 10+ years or prior relevant experience. Generally has a minimum of 7+ years of experience supervising or leading teams or projects
Demonstrate experience with all aspects of  Earned Value Management Systems Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) 
Strong communication skills
Ability to learn new tasks quickly and complete multiple assignments in a timely manner
Attention to detail with strong documentation skills 
Demonstrated experience working effectively with large teams in a dynamic operational environment
Demonstrated strong stakeholder engagement skills 
Experience with Agile Development, CMMI, and Best Practices
Proven ability to work in a dynamic, ambiguous environment
Desired skills  
Interest in government contracting and/or aviation
Experience with Leidos EVM tools, processes and procedures a definite plus
Ability to quickly comprehend processes and learn systems and tools
Ability to execute data mining and analysis and present those findings to management
Ability to be accountable and professional while maintaining effective interpersonal (written, verbal and presentation) skills while managing multiple priorities and tasks
