Description:
The Pega Systems Administrator is responsible for supporting and administering a Pega 7.2.x deployment in a FedRAMP cloud environment in support of the 2020 Decennial Census.  This individual works closely with the Pega Systems Architect on the ECaSE application, Technical Integrator infrastructure, DevOps, and cloud support to insure the proper environment is defined and deployed to support and scale for 2018 end-to-end test and rollout of the 2020 Decennial application. 
The individual holds Pega certifications as either a System Architect or Senior System Architect and has demonstrable expertise in deploying Pega and/or other BPMS products in a cloud environment.  FedRAMP cloud environment strongly preferred.  This individual participates in daily Standup calls and ongoing Pega 7 support within business and IT units related to the deployment of the Pega solution to the cloud.  This individual will work with Pega Subject Matter Experts to ensure that resources, particularly cloud-based, are maximized and cost-efficient.
 
 
Responsibilities:
  • Along with the Pega Systems Architects, support the ECaSE Pega 7 Architecture.
  • Install Pega 7 components on the ECaSE platform.
  • Configure the Organizational Assets.
  • Export and Import Rules and Cases.
  • Execute ECaSE Application Deployment and perform application migrations.
  • Perform performance analysis and tuning.
  • Manage security authentication and authorization.
  • Configure Pega 7 Logging.
  • Work with Systems Architects to review Pega architectural designs and decisions regarding ECaSE solution and impacts on cloud deployment.
  • Support the cloud architecture based on demand forecasts that will support the 2020 Decennial Census
  • Provide QA and UAT Support as it relates to ECaSE support.
  • Provide resolution on technical issues related to the Pega 7 ECaSE application.
  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of current and emerging technologies, equipment and systems. Keeps current on laws, mandates, issues, practices and procedures.
  • Review and provides input to policies and standard operating procedures; monitors and evaluates program effectiveness and effects changes required for continuous improvement of IT systems.
  • Contribute to the formulation and maintenance of an enterprise-wide disaster recovery and business continuity plan for the Pega solution.
  • Assists in customer-focused interaction to ensure objectives are realized and expectations are properly managed. Perform activities and programs with other departments to improve service performance.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Required Skills:
  • Requires BS Degree and 2-4 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with less than  2 years of experience.
  • Knowledge of business processes and policies.
  • Basic understanding of business application development.
  • Awareness of best practices and guardrail compliance.
  • Use of Pega Express for prototyping.
  • Familiarity with one or more project methodologies such as Scrum, RUP or Waterfall.
  • Awareness of Pega's principles of application design and development.
  • Understand the various deployment modes and other platforms.
  • Conversant in tools such as PegaRULES Log Analyzer (PLA).
  • Knowledgeable in how to route assignments and work.
  • Capable of using the System Management Application (SMA).
  • Can configure decision tables and decision trees.
  • Understands the concepts behind assigning work.
  • Cognizant of purpose of caching data with data pages.
  • Integration of other applications into ECaSE Pega applications through services and connectors.
  • Create reports through report definition.
  • Familiarity of configuring When rules.
  • Designing a UI form (harness / section).
  • Configuring a work party.
  • Constructing a Service Level Agreement (SLA).
  • Ability to circumstance rules.
  • Utilization of the Designer Studio to design the case life cycle.
  • Configure case and case processing behavior.
  • Setting property values automatically and declaratively
  • Create data classes, and properties to use in a Pega implementation.
  • 3 full-time years of experience in IT application support / development.
  • Certified Pega System Architect or Pega Senior System Architect
  • Experience deploying Pega and/or other BPMS commercial products in a cloud environment.
  • FedRAMP cloud experience strongly preferred.
  • Must have knowledge of the concepts, practices and procedures of deploying and maintaining large systems in the cloud.
  • Demonstrated understanding of IT management, administration, applications and system development lifecycles within a substantial IT environment.
  • Experience in tactical planning, supporting IT initiatives and working with in-house technical resources and contracted services.
  • Knowledge of current organizational frameworks (such as ITIL, CMMI, ISO, COBIT, PMI/PMP, Agile, etc.).
  • Relevant knowledge of current and emerging technologies.
  • Proficient in organizational change management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel, elected officials, executive leadership, senior management, users, vendors and subcontractor personnel.
  • Ability to consistently meet and exceed expectations and incorporate customer service into all aspects of work.

  • Proficient in Cloud technologies.  AWS Certification preferred.
