Description:

JOB SUMMARY: 

Leidos is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer for our Integration & Logistics Center in Chesapeake, VA. The successful candidate will be responsible for technical planning, system hardware-software-network design, development and integration, verification and validation, and fielding in support of CDSA Dam Neck for the Integrated Training Systems; including Battle Force Tactical Training (BFTT).

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Candidate will ensure appropriate systems engineering technical and technical management processes are properly applied to functional specialty activities that support IPT environments. Lead technical oversight of engineering activities in a functional specialty relating to the design, development, fabrication, installation, modification, sustainment, and/or analysis of systems or systems components. Additionally, lead design and development activities for system or system components.

 

Additionally, the candidate will:

-         Lead technical solutions that require collaboration with internal experts, deep analyses, and understanding of impact on end-product/solution.

-         Evaluate alternatives including cost and risk, supportability and analyses for total systems.

-         Lead systems requirements analysis, functional analysis, timeline analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition, technical management, integration, system testing, and quality assurance.

Coach and review the work of lower level system engineers.

Qualifications:
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: 
- Bachelor’s Degree and 4-8 years of full-time experience in systems engineering, including:
o Supporting USN major shipboard combat system acquisition program
o Combat system support should include:
o Requirements definition
o System design parameters
o Concepts of Operations
o Risk assessment
o Producibility studies/analyses, performance analyses
o Test and Evaluation (T&E)
o Post-delivery support
- Also acceptable, Masters with 2-6 years of prior relevant experience.(equivalent experience/additional experience, education and training may be considered in lieu of degree)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 
- Experience with BFTT program 
- USN combat systems design and integration experience
