Description:
Leidos is searching for a Senior Aerospace Engineer to join our Tactical Unmanned Aircraft System (TUAS) team, which will support the Shadow RQ-7B Aircraft.  

The Shadow TUAS Program is mature and in the Sustainment phase of its lifecycle. As such, most engineering activities will be focused on sustainment engineering and developing aircraft modifications that improve performance, reliability and operability.

The Senior Aerospace Engineer will work under general guidance from the Chief Engineer to lead the development of systems analyses to airframe primary structure and subsystems.  Upon development, you will work with the customer to obtain concurrence on the documentation.  Modifications may range from incorporation of an upgraded payload onto the airframe to fuel system improvement modifications.  Your job will be to lead analysts, analyze and write substantiation documentation based on customer requirements using applicable military specifications, internal structural manuals and text similar to Analysis & Design of Flight Vehicle Structures, Bruhn. The primary tool used for Analysis is ANSYS and FEMAP for Finite Element Modeling(FEM). MATHCAD and MATLAB are also used for 'hand' calculations.You will work with design teams to develop working models for integration of these components. Upon design completion, you will be expected to provide Liaison support of the actual installation/integration.

Qualifications:
BS degree from an accredited engineering school and ten years related engineering experience, or MS degree from an accredited engineering school and eight years related engineering experience, or Ph.D. from an accredited school of Engineering and five years related engineering experience.


Experience with Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) 
Demonstrate previous success working in a team based environment to meet objectives.
Ability to obtain and maintain a secret level security clearance.
Experience with Finite Element Modeling (FEM) creation using ANSYS, NASTRAN or similar program.
Experience using 3d CAD system (Catia, etc).
Experience with AR 70-62 Airworthiness certification process with US Army Aviation Engineering Directorate (AED)"

Experience presenting technical analyses during design reviews
> Control Account Management (CAM) Experience
> Experience in US Army based Unmanned Aerial Vehicles
> Government Report or Thesis writing. 
> Masters degree preferred.
> Ability to analyze electrical systems (ELA, EMI/EMC)
> Experience performing CFD analyses and modeling
> Ability to develop Basis Of Estimates (BOEs) for new opportunities"
