Leidos has an excellent opportunity for a Jr. Systems Engineers located in our San Diego, CA offices.
Candidate will be responsible for performing Application Integration (AI) processes in support of Naval tactical networks, including the Consolidated Afloat Networks and Enterprise Services (CANES) and the Integrated Shipboard Network System (ISNS).
The successful candidate will participate in lifecycle engineering activities from the initial AI Concept of Operations (AI CONOPS), to requirements analysis, solution development, verification and validation, as well as deployment of CANES applications. The engineer will support the government Program Executive Office (PEO), IPT’s and application providers.
The successful candidate will be responsible or assist with:
Integration of new applications into the CANES System of Systems (SOS). Responsibilities include investigation, analysis and documentation of system requirements for CANES applications to insure that functional needs are satisfied, and that new and legacy systems align with the SoS architecture. The engineer must work directly with CANES application developers providing guidance, recommendations and feedback during the design and implementation of technical solutions, as well as supporting test event conduct. Continuous integration is performed throughout the entire development cycle through the execution of the AI CONOPS.
Providing programmatic support to the CANES PEO through such activities as risk mitigation, configuration management, test event coordination, review of fielding schedules, and technical briefings. Ongoing Certification and Accreditation (C&A) activity must also be supported, to insure that Information Assurance (IA) requirements are met. Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have the following skills/experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related technical field and 1 plus years of systems engineering experience. (Equivalent experience in systems engineering and IT-related fields considered.)
Experience with SSC Pacific PMW 160, including CANES and ISNS, and Demonstrated ability to work effectively in an IPT environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as advanced user of MS Office suite
Experience in DoD test planning, documentation and conduct, and Familiarity with DoD Certification and Accreditation (C&A) processes.
Candidate must possess an active Secret clearance, and be eligible to obtain a Top Secret clearance or higher.
