Description:
Leidos is currently seeking a Sr Software Engineering Manager for an upcoming, large DoD initiative. This position requires 18+ years experience managing and supervising >25 employees with diverse labor categories and skills in large, complex Department of the Army and Army National Guard network and IT efforts. Expertise to provide the Army National Guard G6 with technical services in the areas of: Program Management, Project planning; Software lifecycle sustainment; Test, Development, Pre-production, Production, and COOP environments; Application migration and transition; Cloud Computing, Configuration Management (CM); Information Assurance Cybersecurity; Risk Management; Remediation and Mitigation; Asset Management; Enterprise Service Desk; Application Training; and Surge/Special Projects. Experience with the underlying Platforms, Operating Systems, is required: Hardware Platform - HP Itanium DB And Web Servers; Operating System - HP-UX 11.23 Hardware Platform IBM Mainframe; Operating System - Z/OS 2.1 Hardware Platform - HP Itanium DB and Web Servers; Operating System - HP-UX 11i V3 B.11.31 Hardware Platform - Virtual Machine x86, 64bit, Dual Intel Xeon E5540 (2.53 GHz) server; Operating System - EDW MSBI: MS Windows Server 2008 R2 (Plan to upgrade to MS Windows Server 2012 R2) Hardware Platform - HP Itanium DB Server; HP BL460c Blade Server (4 CPU's 4GB MEMORY); Operating System - HP-UX 11.23; ESX VMWARE 4.1 Update 2 running Windows 2012 R2 Server Hardware Platform - Intel-based DB and Web Servers; Operating System - NET Framework-enabled Windows Server 2012 R2 VMware template RedHat Linux 6.8 VMware template Experience implementing innovative approaches to fulfilling requirements with current technologies and providing clear, technical guidance and direction to staff which lead to resolving difficult-to-solve technical problems. Experience prioritizing and managing work to critical project timelines in a fast-paced environment, developing new approaches to complex design problems. Experience translating requirements into project plans and milestones compatible with earned value management (EVM) requirements, directing and implementing plans, and presenting formal oral and written project status/plan briefings to the executive Government and corporate managers.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION Appropriate degree from an accredited college, or equivalent experience/combined education, with professional experience and specialized training commensurate with assignment. B.S., Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Mathematics M.S. Software Engineering, Computer Science or Technical Management Experience managing computer operations that are functional 24/7 and provides internally and customer generated issue assistance for around-the clock operational systems support and systems health monitoring. Experience in leading network and systems integration teams in setting up data systems, providing reliable network connectivity, troubleshooting, recommending innovative approaches to configuration and administration of all assigned devices. Experience increasing enterprise operations efficiencies through process improvement by developing standard and ad hoc operating procedures, resulting in more consistent performance and improved customer support. Possess 5+ years experience in managing and analyzing help desk support, incident management, release management, availability manage ment, and capacity management. Experience guiding comprehensive evaluations of cloud security tools leading to the certification and accreditation of services provisioned in the data analytics offerings with additional tools to provide important information assurance (IA). Required Certifications: Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL)v3 Foundation Security Requirements: Must be able to pass the National Agency Check with written Inquiries (NACI), National Trust, and a favorable completion of a Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) fingerprint check, or a DoD/DoE-determined equivalent investigation, or greater. Must possess a Secret security clearance at contract start Possess the ability to obtain a Top Secret level security clearance Desired Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP ) Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Expert Release, Control and Validation Certification, Education: B.S., Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Mathematics M.S. Software Engineering, Computer Science or Technical Management Appropriate degree from an accredited college, or equivalent experience/combined education, with professional experience and specialized training commensurate with assignment.
