Leidos has an opening for a Security/Surety Specialist to support the Assembled Chemical Weapons Alternatives (ACWA) program.  The successful candidate will support the PCAPP Field Office (FO) Project Manager by providing support and assistance in the identification, control production, distribution, archiving, scanning, storage and retrieval of all deliverable data.   


The successful candidate will be familiar with the Army Chemical Surety regulations AR 50-6, its application and its implementation at facilities and sites containing chemical weapons.  

Applicants will be capable of performing document reviews, technical research, and provide technical input associated with chemical surety activities to provide the necessary information for the Government to perform their oversight mission.  Applicants will have the capability to perform project related security, surety, and training activities as specified by the government for the functional PEO ACWA Systemization, Operations, and Closure Support Contract area. 

The following activities are included as typical work efforts but can vary based on the government’s needs:

1.Review cost estimates and schedules / updates concerning security, surety, and training activities in support of the Government's chemical surety oversight mission.
2. Identify any inaccuracies including potential cost and schedule impacts and provide information detailing the errors to the Government. 

3. Review plans and procedures related to security, surety, and training to determine compliance with ACWA programmatic and Army requirements. 

4. Provide results of reviews to the Government. 

5. Assist the Government with the coordination between the Army Material Systems Analysis Activity (AMSAA) and other off-site stakeholders to support the Test IPT. 

6. Review project documentation, observe activities, monitor progress of performance associated with managing and controlling ATE. PEO ACWA Test Equipment (ATE) assets 

7. Develop and provide technical input to the Government for meetings between the SC and HQ resources that provide ATE.  

8. Provide technical input to the Government for developing and maintaining Government prepared independent cost estimates for systemization, operations and closure. Provide technical input to the Government for use in the evaluating technical and cost proposals submitted by the Systems Contractor. 

9. Provide Surety and Security technical input to the Government regarding systemization, operations and closure-related documents including but not limited to, the Systemization Implementation Plan (SIP), Test Concept Plan (TCP), Test Evaluation Plan (TEP), Joint Test Group (JTG), System Design Descriptions (SDD), SOPs, Laboratory Operating Procedures (LOP), Maintenance Operating Procedures (MOP), System Demonstration Procedures (SDP) to include reports and other surety and security impacted procedures related to maintenance, security, surety, cyber security, laboratory, property, environmental, and emergency preparedness. 


Minimum Qualifications

BA/BS degree (four year degree) 

5+ years’ experience in DoD security management

5+ years specialized experience managing a chemical/nuclear surety program or equivalent security and personnel reliability program. 

Ability to be approved for a government security clearance

Additional Qualifications  

Experience in a Chemical Demilitarization Facility performing surety and security evaluations in accordance with Army Regulation 50 experience with Surety Assistance Visits.
