POTFF Clinical Psychologist
Leidos's Military & Veterans Health Solutions Group anticipates several openings for Clinical Psychologists at various locations to support the Protection of the Force and Family (POTFF) Contract.
Basic competencies are expected in diagnostic interviewing, behavioral assessment, psychological treatment of DSM-IV diagnoses conditions, and the use of psychological testing/psychodiagnostic testing for the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of psychological disorders.
Activities include, but are not limited to, the following: Crisis response and follow-up care in the event of unit casualties or other serious incidents; Provision of individual, family, and group psychotherapy,and couples therapy; Use of behavior health measures, symptoms checklists, and psychological/neuropsychological assessment instruments to assist in diagnostic clarification and treatment planning; Maintain accurate and current
notes in both the Mental Health records and patient medical records of all patients seen, as appropriate, and produces reports of evaluation and/or treatment, as required; Assist and participate in special event informational seminars;
Psychological evaluations required by military schools and/or programs; Command directed mental health evaluations performed IAW DOD Directive 6490.1; Clinical supervision of para-professional staff, students pursuing an advanced degree in psychology, and unlicensed psychologists.
The contractor will maintain professional license and credentials to practice independently as a clinical psychologist.
They will maintain proficiency through attending continuing education and regular consultations with DoD and other agencies.
The contract psychologist is required to hold a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) or Psychology Doctor (Psy.D.) degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA approved psychology program (or a program acceptable to the
Office of the Surgeon General, U.S. Army). Shall have completed an APA approved internship/residency in clinical psychology (or an internship/residency acceptable to the Office of the Surgeon General, U.S. Army). Have and
maintain a current license to practice psychology in any one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands. Have a minimum of one (1) year’s post-doctoral experience within the past five (5) years
in the independent practice of psychology in the area of the clinical psychology, preferably in a Government setting such as a Department of Defense (DOD) or Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) MTF. Prior experience working
with physicians providing medical psychological services is desired. Demonstrate a working knowledge of professional standards and ethics regarding the delivery of clinical psychology programs. Demonstrate computer
literacy sufficient to operate a personal computer utilizing psychological test, word processing, database and spread sheet programs, electronic medical record, and possess basic typing skills sufficient to efficiently produce the
psychologist’s own reports and correspondence. All HCPs shall have and maintain current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) as certified by the American Heart Association. Documentation of such training shall
be provided to the COR. The front and back of the BCLS shall be provided to the Credentialing Department.
US Citizenship required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret level government security clearance.
