Leidos is seeking a Release and Deployment Lead to support a customer in Rockville, MD.  As a contract holder on the Nuclear Regulatory Commission’s Global Infrastructure Development Acquisition (GLINDA), we are pursuing upcoming opportunities with the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) including Security Operations, End User Computing, Network/Data Center/Cloud Services, and Mobility Services.  Below is one of the exciting opportunities we are offering on this program.


The Release and Deployment Lead should have:

• Experience supporting software environments and release deployment in a similar environment (minimum of 4,000 workstations and 1,000 servers) and have orchestrated and executed complex releases and updates in both environments
• AGILE and ITIL expertise as well as experience in leveraging the applicable aspects of each discipline into a client’s Release and Deployment processes
• Working knowledge of Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)
• Experience identifying and offering improvements and enhancements to a client’s Release process and to work with the client to implement changes
• Demonstrated knowledge of programming constructs such as Visual Basic or PowerShell, so as to facilitate customized deployments
• Experience acting as a liaison between a Release and Deployment team and other teams associated with workstation and server maintenance and operations
• Experience preparing and maintaining communications templates for all deployment activities as well as operate and update web and/or SharePoint portals with associated information

The lead shall maintain consistent, predictable, and easily understood deployment and administration processes with transparency into stage and status, and ensure processes align with and support an ITIL-based Service Validation and Testing activity model approach currently under development within the Agency.
The lead will also be responsible to:
• Maintain agency environment strategy and related architectures, including but not limited to Active Directory, group policies (local and system wide), Security policies, Government-wide security settings (e.g. NIST, DISA), and firewall permissions
• Setup special environments, such as but not limited to testing labs, that have the capability of being firewalled or separated from the rest of the NRC network if needed for the special environment
• Maintain congruency between Development and Pre-Production environments and the POE
• Perform monthly and on-demand security patch, third party software update testing and application
• Perform quarterly workstation update testing and workstation Gold Image scanning and validation
• Perform new workstation application scanning and security validation
• Perform workstation Group Policy Object (GPO) and security change testing, scanning and validation
• Maintain processes, and consistently execute such processes, for provisioning and de-provisioning resources within specific environments


• Typically requires BS degree and 12 – 15 years of prior relevant experience

• Knowledge of working with a DevOps and Agile delivery orientation.
• Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) Certified
• ITIL v3 Foundation

• ITIL - Intermediate or higher Certified Preferred
• Agile expert certified preferred
