Leidos is seeking a SNCC Service Area Lead, Security Engineering, to support a customer in Rockville, MD.  As a contract holder on the Nuclear Regulatory Commission’s Global Infrastructure Development Acquisition (GLINDA), we are pursuing upcoming opportunities with the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) including Security Operations, End User Computing, Network/Data Center/Cloud Services, and Mobility Services. 
and systems designed to address various aspects of cybersecurity activities, resulting in an overall positive contribution to NRC’s security posture. Additionally, the Security Engineering Lead shall perform services focused on the consistent ongoing optimization and engineering support of the security supporting NRC’s network resources. The objective of the aforementioned effort is to adapt the toolsets to address new and emerging threats.
To support SOC architecture, engineering, operations, and maintenance planning and other requirements, the Security Engineering Lead shall provide perform services in the following areas:
• Security architecture and engineering
• Engineering change request and security review
• Security tool configuration and maintenance
• Administration of Agency Log Management System
• Security authorization support
• Data retention and storage requirements
• Continuity of Operations for SOC Network Defense and Monitoring Systems
• Proactive vulnerability and compliance scanning
In the performance of its services under this program, contractor is expected to comply with a range of security requirements across all Service Areas. These security requirements are critical to the success of the NRC. However, compliance with these requirements is expected to be achieved within the respective Support Areas that they apply to.
Additionally, to help ensure these requirements are complied with and appropriately integrated into the Support Areas the Security Engineering Lead shall:
• Oversee implementation and maintenance of the security requirements identified
• Develop and utilize specific procedures that ensure the requirements are met when performing their services


TYPICAL EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree and 6 years’ relevant experience in new and related older technology that directly relates to the required area of expertise.


The Security Engineering Lead shall possess:
• Experience in cybersecurity, information risk management, or information systems risk assessment
• High levels of knowledge of the following areas:
o Vulnerability Assessments
o Intrusion Prevention and Detection Administration
o Access Control and Authorization
o Policy Enforcement
o Application Security
o Protocol Analysis
o Firewall Management
o Data Loss Prevention Administration
o Encryption
o Two-Factor Authentication
o Web-filtering
o Advanced Threat Protection
o DNSSEC Administration
o Log Analysis
o Network Traffic Packet Analysis
o Spam Filtering / E-mail Security Administration
o CISSP, Security+, CEH, and/or GIAC certifications
o Demonstrable coding experience, preferably with Python or a similar language
