Leidos has an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical or Ocean Engineer who will be responsible for:
• Static, dynamic design and analysis of mechanical system.
• Feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs.
• Production of design documentation for fabrication and assembly
• Working with multidisciplinary team to develop detailed design, testing and prototype fabrication.
Works independently or as a team member to develop components and subsystems for project deliverables. Responsible for subsystem design and execution of related analysis tasks. May assist other technical staff with tasks and assignments.
COMPLEXITY: Addresses technical issues/problems using internal best practice and through collaboration with colleagues. Develops solutions to technical problems that require depth of technical knowledge to ensure that the solution meets a given set of requirements and interfaces.
COMMUNICATION: Communicates with colleagues across multiple areas (project managers, other technical resources, etc.). Explains technical solutions, practices and procedures to others within the organization.
KNOWLEDGE: Maritime experience greatly preferred. Requires working knowledge of and ability to apply standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques of technical domain. Prior experience with ANSI Y14.1 drawing standards and SolidWorks CAD preferred.
Requires BS and 2 – 4 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with less than 2 years of prior relevant experience.
Current or prior Secret Clearance preferred
