Leidos has a career opportunity for a Network Engineer located in Bridgewater, VA.
The job of the Network Engineer is to Design networks for new programs to include slow/high latency links, DMVPN, and encryptors. Some travel required.
-Review and optimize current program networks for best performance to include but not limited to dynamic and static routes, STP, TCP tuning, Micro Tik, and TCP accelerators
-Monitor links and review logs to ensure performance and security posture
-Create router and switch configurations in accordance to DISA STIGs to be implemented by remote administrators
-Create Cisco ASA w/Firepower and McAfee HIPS firewall/ IPS policies
-Remotely administrate a site with no local personnel
-Mentor Junior IT System Engineers on the basics of networking
-Document all network configurations through diagrams and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
-Ability to communicate network theory to non-network administrators
-Learn other IT technologies in the information system by helping other team members
-Bachelor’s degree and 5 years network engineering experience. Additional 2 years of experience may be used in lieu of a degree
-Security+ and CCNA certification required.
-Ability to identify issues and research fixes
-Knowledge of DISA STIGs and how to implement hardening to network devices i.e. Routers, L3/L2 switches, Cisco ASAs, firewalls
-Strong desire to grow and learn new IT technologies
-Be willing to relocate to our Bridgewater, VA office
-Be able to obtain a passport and visa to travel internationally
-Be able to travel to CONUS and OCNUS locations 25% of the year
-Able to work long, irregular hours in hardship and hazardous locations when OCONUS
-Must be able to successfully accomplish the CONUS Replacement Center course which requires successful deployment physical, immunizations, and training
-Must be a US Citizen
-Must have or be able to acquire a TS/SCI
-CCNP or another advanced certification is preferred
