Leidos has a career opening for an Avionics Manger located in Manassas, VA.
The job of the Avionics Manager is to oversee all aspects of a Part 145 Avionics Shop including but not limited to installations, upgrades, component bench repair & line service. Will travel CONUS/OCONUS 25 % of the time.
-Design, draw and integrate avionics and electrical systems, perform installation of avionics & navigation equipment per engineering drawings while following wiring standards.
-Ability to perform and also instruct basic soldering, harness fabrication and installation including wire stripping and crimping, fault isolation and repair of avionics system failures.
-Design, installation and integration of avionics upgrades.
-Oversee and coordinate avionics installation and integration as well as bench and line service work.
-Manage avionics installation, bench and line employees. Oversee quality or work.
-Bachelor’s degree and 4 - 8 years of related experience. Additional years’ experience may be used in lieu of a degree.
-Avionics, electrical, and special mission system experience.
-Vocational development or on-the-job training of electronic and avionics theory and troubleshooting on aviation systems.
-Ability to design and integrate avionics systems and electrical systems and develop schematics.
-Ability to read and use schematics and drawings.
-Must be able to pass CRC training.
-Must have a FCC license
Requires someone experience in obtaining FAA 337’s
-Must be able to obtain a Secret security clearance.
-Crawl in and out of tight spaces
-Comfortably work in confined areas in a kneeling or crouched position
-Lift, balance and carry up to 50 lbs.
-Work in enclosed hangars as well as exterior in year round weather conditions
-Work off site as required
Experience with King Air and Dash 8 aircraft preferred.
Experience and formal training from Rockwell Collins, Honeywell and Garmin preferred
Requires a FCC license. A&P and IA preferred but not required.
