Description:
JOB SUMMARY:

Instructional Designer to work with instructors and subject matter experts to develop effective adult learning opportunities for customer workforce.  In collaboration with a team of ISDs, candidate will design and develop instruction and other learning solutions that prepare students with the knowledge needed to carry out their mission.  

  • Training may be delivered in the classroom or online; online training may be CBT or a blend of classroom and online.  Instructional design support to a dynamic environment to include course design for classroom delivery, including design and development of learner activities and exercises, creation of instructional materials and lesson plans.
  • Design courses for online and blended-learning environments, incorporating technology into the design and delivery.
  • Consult with instructors and subject matter experts to determine instructional requirements, collect data, customize
  • design proposals, and implement solutions.
  • Collaborate with technical developers/designers to produce media that supports instructional goals and objectives.
  • Analyze, evaluate, observe courses to propose and plan design improvements.
  • Collect, analyze, report and use quantitative and qualitative data to inform design decisions or projects.
  • Use a range of educational technologies in support of synchronous, asynchronous and self-service teaching and
  • learning.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Qualifications:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Requires a BA degree and 8 – 12 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6 – 10 years of prior relevant experience. 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: 
  • Bachelor's Degree with at least 8 years of experience.
  • Currently possess an active TS/SCI security clearance.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge developing online training and learning tools and the knowledge to be able to
  • successfully differentiate the needs of online training from instructor lead training.
  • Ability to develop strategies for online learning and their delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully individually, within a team, and across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills and ability to provide proactive customer service support.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide initiative, determine how to effectively move projects through to completion, and then to
  • successfully complete those projects.
  • Communication skills in visual, oral and written form to explain instructional options, recommendations and rationale to
  • decision-makers and subject matter experts.
  • Face-to-face, online and blended learning design and development for adult professionals.
  • Portfolio containing at least five (5) representative samples of projects showcasing learning design solutions developed
  • individually or collaboratively.
  • Self-starter with the ability to determine learning needs, propose design solutions, collaborate with stakeholders and
  • provide excellent customer service.
  • Knowledge of current learning models, research and theories to address learning problems and solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience/ability to collect, analyze and report on courses and their impact on learning to inform design
  • decisions or projects.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 
  • Master’s Degree in adult learning, education, or online learning.
  • Program evaluation experience including qualitative and quantitative analysis and data tracking. Development of online
  • tools and courses.
  • HTML and/or other graphic and web based tools for developing online tools and products.
