Leidos currently has an exciting opportunity for an Aircraft Maintenance Manager supporting the ”Total Aviation Support Services for the DEA Aviation Division”, Program, located at Alliance Field, FT. Worth, Texas. (This is a multi-year contract.)


The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all program scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance through established Leidos Incorporated Repair Station and Quality Control Manual, IS-BAO, FAR PART 91/145 and industry standard compliant policy and procedures.


Responsibilities will include:

- Establish comprehensive aircraft maintenance procedures covering, IS-BAO and FAR PART 91/125/145.
- Develop and maintain an accurate and timely aircraft maintenance reporting system.
- Oversee the recruitment, selection, discipline and training of personnel
- Maintains appropriate liaison with suppliers/vendors, local state and federal oversight agencies and purchases of services
- Develops and implements both internal and sub-contractor training programs to communicate current information and procedures to employees and evaluates training programs to determine their effectiveness.
- Maintains appropriate liaison with suppliers/vendors, local state and federal oversight agencies and purchases of services
- Provides guidance to subordinate employees and peers when appropriate, collaborating and cooperating with other members of the management team
- Support the performance appraisal systems for maintenance employees by completing timely and accurate evaluations.


The successful candidate will have the following Education/skills/experience:


Bachelor’s Degree (BS or BA) from an accredited four (4) year college or university in Aviation Maintenance or related field. Education/degree requirements may be substituted with training and job experience.


Hold a valid certificate issued by the FAA with both airframe and power plant ratings and Inspection Authorization certification.


Fifteen (15) plus years extensive experience in aircraft and power plant maintenance and repair with a minimum of five (5) of the fifteen years as a Maintenance Supervisor at the level of responsibility for making airworthiness decisions.


Demonstrated experience shall be in a similar position within the last twelve (12) months; shall possess a working knowledge of the applicable FAA Regulations, specifically with FAA parts 91, 125 and 145 and its application to DEA/Designated Aircraft.


Candidate must be a US Citizen and be able to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance within 30 days of submittal, or currently possess an active DOD Secret level Clearance.


This position is a full-time responsibility and must be located at the main on-site Alliance Facility.

- Write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals
- Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
- Respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers
- Obtain a passport, visa, and Department of Defense security clearance
- Create, enter, retrieve and print from software packages such as; Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access and Project
- Interpret drawings, specifications and schematics of aircraft instrument/electronic components
- Recognize from schematics and drawings not only how one assembly functions but also how various assemblies interact with each other.
- Generally accepted accounting principles sufficient to perform the job, duties, and tasks associated with the position
- Databases sufficient to perform the job, duties, and tasks associated with the position
- Aircraft sheet metal repair
- Component repair
- Instrument, electronic and electrical test equipment
- Military or commercial aviation maintenance
- U.S. Government regulations for federal contractors and FAA Maintenance programs
- Aircraft maintenance terminology

Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:

Recent experience with both fixed wing and helicopter aircraft.
