The Defense & Intelligence Group of Leidos has an opening for a Chief Engineer in the National Capital Region. Exact position location within the NCR to be determined.
Chief Engineer to lead the technical strategy, solution development, and execution of systems and infrastructure information technology (IT) and support services to the Navy Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI) and the Marine Corps Enterprise Network (MCEN) for the U.S. Navy Next Generation Enterprise Networks Re-compete (NGEN-R) program. NGEN-R is the Next Generation contract procurement of information technology (IT) services for the Navy and Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI).The Chief Engineer will provide comprehensive systems engineering oversight, analytical, and technical support services required to deliver a broad range of innovative, next-generation IT solutions and professional services to modernize Department of Navy (DON) legacy systems, protect their networks and assets, and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of mission-critical functions to the war fighter.
•Serve as the principal IT engineer to provide engineering expertise and guidance for the design, development, and implementation of IT solutions that protect and monitors various IT infrastructures.
•Provide technical expertise and analysis support on current DoN NGEN, Network and Communications architectures, systems, and related cyber initiatives.
•Create and deploy new standard practices for System Engineers, Engineering, and product support teams.
•Drive strategic technological innovation, demonstrating a breadth and depth of knowledge in all things related to a complex, matrixed Information Technology operation in support of the Navy Enterprise Networks (NEN).
•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent with 15+ years of experience with engineering and architecting enterprise IT solutions.
•Demonstrated expertise in systems engineering, including requirements analysis and system architecture design.
•5+ years of specific experience with Windows, Linux, or Unix.
•5+ years of specific server virtualization experience utilizing VMware, Citrix, or Hyper-V.
•Currently possess DoD 8570 IAT III Certification such as CASP, CISSP, CISA, GCED, or GCIH.
•Currently possess a DoD TS/SCI security clearance.
•Master’s degree in a relevant technical discipline.
•Demonstrated experience monitoring tools such as HP NNM.
•Demonstrated experience with configuration tools such as Tivoli or Microsoft SCCM.
•Prior Navy NGEN or NMCI experience.
