Leidos is seeking a Capture Manager for our Defense Maritime Operations and Logistics Business Development team. This business line provides end-to-end logistics solutions for the Navy and other Defense industry customers.  M O&LS’s areas of excellence include:

This position reports to the Director of Business Development & Strategy Maritime Operations & Logistics OLS and supports the entire MOLS Business Development team.  Our team is a hands on organization – ability to collaborate and communicate across the organization is key to success.
The Capture Manager (CM) is responsible for winning new business (> $50M), re-compete contracts, or task order business in the federal government market. The CM has accountability to shape and win, managing all the activities necessary to transform qualified opportunities into competitive bids. The role is a hands-on, and the candidate must be capable of managing multiple captures (in various phases) simultaneously.
Responsibilities include developing, maintaining and executing capture strategies and detailed capture plans (including call plans) in accordance with Leidos corporate ‘Win Plan’ to include assembling and managing a capture team, contacting prospective and existing clients and partners, communicating the organizations core capabilities, and establishing internal and external teaming arrangements, and providing senior leadership status reporting and support/participation in marketing events/symposiums as needed. 
The candidate must manage relationships with customers, partners, and staff in the overall solution development and also (with Subject Matter Expertise support) lead the development of technical and cost/price solutions.
Overseeing the proposal phase is also part of the responsibilities, so attention to detail and organization skills are critical. 
The successful candidate will have a working knowledge of US Government contracting, contract types, pricing and procurement processes and decision making.
The CM may also support various new business campaign strategies, as well as new business and opportunity development as assigned. 
Responsibilities include:
  • Leading assigned captures through the qualification process to bid to include formal gate review presentations up to the CEO level.
  • Participating in opportunity qualification and decision making to include PWS gap analyses, teaming qualifications and assessments,  identification of relevant past performance and capabilities write-ups, white papers and financial analysis, 
  • Leading the Proposal Manager and provide guidance/final decision making over all aspects of the proposal development to include writing, pricing, reviews and compliance assurance.
  • Competency in Leidos Corporate Win Plan. 


Minimum Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree.
6+ years related capture experience.
Experience supporting capture efforts within the DOD or other government agencies, especially single awards greater than $50M.
Demonstrated skills in all areas of capture including: opportunity qualification, capture strategy, customer visits, customer relationship development, relationship development with competition, team leadership, etc.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and outstanding interpersonal skills.
Flexibility in working with a dynamic environment in a growing company.
Experience working captures in a large organization with a formal gate review process (or formal training such as Shipley)
Additional Desired skills:
Working knowledge of US Government contracting, contract types and procurement processes.
Strong reasoning and communications skills, both oral and written.
Prior active-duty military, USG contractor or civilian employee.
Experience in program management, project management.
Domestic & International experience.
Ability to meet schedule and budgets skills.
