Description:

Leidos is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to support mission systems. The successful candidate will serve as an IT Systems Engineer professional on a variety Command and Control (C2) systems as well as an important member of a team that is actively upgrading and supporting Global Command and Control System (GCCS) and other mission systems supporting planning and execution of complex missions. Minimal travel may be required to support national events.

In this role you will be on a team interacting with many different Senior and Junior personnel to implement, maintain, protect and sustain mission systems supporting missions and command-level exercises. Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

-Performs systems engineering planning, information security planning, performance management, capacity planning, testing and validation, risk assessment, benchmarking, information engineering, security impact analysis

-Development and staffing of a systems engineering or security management plan

-Evaluate network equipment for vulnerabilities and ensure appropriate vendor patches are applied

-Ensure that security procedures are implemented and enforced for all mission systems supported

-Supports other Systems Engineers, as required

-Analyzes and develops technical documentation detailing the integration and system performance or information security

-Coordinates the activities of other Systems Engineers assigned to specific systems engineering projects.

-May analyze security implications of Mission Systems on each authorized network


Qualifications:

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS; 

-Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited College or University in a related discipline and/or equivalent experience

-5+ years of related experience

-Possess active Top Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI Clearance

-Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration

-Able to Modify and maintain UNIX/Linux & Windows Hardware & Software configurations

-Ability to perform platform migrations, including Solaris to Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)

-Familiar with PostgreSQL database management

-Knowledge and experience using the Solaris 10 and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6++ operating systems

-Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Windows and Unix/Linux Servers

-Information Assurance knowledge to ensure mission systems are compliant with security regulations

-Intermediate to advanced Virtualization (VMWare) knowledge

-Experience troubleshooting system and software issues to attain resolution

-Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2003-2016

-Knowledge of group policy development and implementation

-Experience supporting a global Active Directory (AD) infrastructure in a mixed Windows and UNIX environment

-Knowledge of Oracle 11G and how it interacts with WebLogic versions 10 and up

-Experience managing McAfee VirusScan Enterprise

-Knowledge of how HBSS is utilized within DoD

-Knowledge of VMware and virtualization of Windows Servers and Clients

-Experience patching systems

-Ability to work in a dynamic and demanding work environment

-Ability to work cooperatively as a team member

-Ability to work independently with minimal or no oversight

-Experience performing systems engineering planning, information security planning, performance management, capacity planning, testing and validation, risk assessment, benchmarking, information engineering, security impact analysis

-Experience in prioritizing, and executing multiple tasks and projects

 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

-ESRI administration experience

-VM Expertise (VMware Data Center Virtualization certifications)

-Designing, installing, and managing VMware vSphere 6 environments in a real world environment

-Knowledge of ITIL principles

-Familiar with other C2 systems, such as Theater Battle Management Core System (TBMCS)

-Familiar with TACLANEs and management of TACLANEs with a GEM server
