Information Security Specialist
The Defense & Intelligence Group has a current opening for an Information Security Specialist at our Customer site in Springfield, VA
Job Description: The Information Security Specialist is responsible for developing and promulgating our Customer's InfoSec Program Integration policy and guidance provided in DoD Manual 5200.01, Volumes 1-4 and relevant Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs), ensuring their alignment with DoD Instruction 8500.01 Cyber Security requirements, developing and publishing a wide range of SEA training in alignment with DoD Directive 1400.01; and overseeing our Customer's OPSEC program implementation required by DoD Manual 5205.02 and providing guidance for same to their OPSEC working group and work force. Education: A minimum of 4 years' experience and a Bachelor's degree. Additional relevant experience in lieu of degree may be considered.
Required Skills and Knowledge:
Information Security Program Integration (InfoSec) Develop and provide InfoSec policy guidance to the Customer's workforce Develop and support delivery of InfoSec, SEA, and OPSEC programs and related security briefings.
Respond promptly to customer service needs and requirements for program security support.
Coordinate security issues, when appropriate, with internal and external mission partner organizations.
Promote innovation and efficiency in areas of security support.
Organize work so that tasks, projects, and assignments are completed in a timely manner and according to deadlines.
Provide ad hoc security support (e.g., security support to large conferences and other program activities as directed by the GPOC).
Provide analytical support to assist with the research, development, coordination, maintenance, review, and revision of NGA and SI policies.
Security Education & Awareness: Prepare and maintain SEA briefings at various Customer events such as New Employee Orientation Seminar (NEOS), security awareness days, and any other briefing requests.
Prepare and maintain SEA briefings and products (e.g., website content and computer-based training).
Prepare and maintain SEA briefings at various NGA events such as New Employee Orientation Seminar (NEOS), security awareness days, and any other briefing requests, as needed.
Operations Security (OPSEC): Provide OPSEC program implementation guidance to the Customer's OPSEC Program for their workforce.
Ensure compliance with policies (DoD, IC, and Customer) and standards regarding OPSEC.
Coordinate and consolidate information to support formal and informal action items in support of the OPSEC program.
Support planning for meetings of Customer's OPSEC Working Group, as needed.
Support the OPSEC GPOC in developing products to market the OPSEC program, as needed.
Review Customer's public release (e.g., media, TV, newspaper, etc.), professional academia papers, and briefing presentations for OPSEC and render written recommendations, as needed.
