The Defense & Intelligence Group of Leidos has an opening for a Sr. Cloud Engineer at Ft. Belvoir, VA.  This position is contingent upon award.  Expected Award date is April 2018.

The Senior-Level Cloud Engineer will contribute to the technical implementation activities and policy development for a DoD Agency that is moving to Private/Public cloud for infrastructure refresh and optimization. AWS/AZURE will be utilized along with private cloud instantiation. The selected candidate will assist the other resources on the program with providing technical direction and guidance to technical resources and government points of contact. The candidate will compose AWS Cloud Formation Templates for utilization, to ensure repeatable, sustainable AWS infrastructure is effectively managed. The Sr. Cloud Engineer will create templates for a multitude of the clients Line Offices with tools such as Chef, Puppet, Jenkins or other AWS services such as Lambda. The Sr. Engineer will lead the efforts to migrate workloads from on-premise to AWS or AZURE, and provide early life support to the end customers upon successful completion of the respective migrations. The successful candidate will have expertise in Automation and Orchestration software, which they will configure and optimize to meet the requirements. They will maintain availability of critical Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud infrastructure, to include configuration changes to AWS Cloud Services (UACS) shared services, and adhere to compliance requirements related to government Information Assurance programs.

•Provide technical direction to maintain AWS Cloud Infrastructure in Optimal Configuration from both technical and budgetary perspectives.
•Provide technical expertise for AWS/AZURE Migration activities.
•Lead efforts to influence the overall AWS Architecture and Design elements for successful cloud implementations.
•Compose and leverage AWS/AZURE Templates for utilization, to ensure repeatable, sustainable infrastructure is effectively managed.
•Train and mentor Junior Administrators and Engineers.
•Standardize deployment activities to support security requirements.
•Provide documentation related to cloud development activities.


•Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline with 12+ years of related systems infrastructure and/or systems engineering and architecture experience, of which 4+ years of experience is in Cloud / AWS Engineering/Architecture. Additional years of experience and/or relevant certification may serve in lieu of a degree.
•Demonstrated on-premise to AWS Migration experience.
•Experience with cloud management support and administration products.
•Currently possess at least one AWS or Microsoft Cloud Professional-Level Certification (Solutions Architect or DevOps).
•Currently possess Security+ or higher 8570 certification.
•Currently possess a DoD Secret security clearance or higher with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.
