Cloud Computing Migration Specialist
The Defense & Intelligence Group of Leidos has an opening for a Cloud Computing Migration Specialist at Ft. Belvoir, VA.
The Senior-Level Cloud Computing Migration Specialist will work within a cloud management office to analyze current applications architecture, research effective and efficient cloud technologies that allow for a minimally invasive transition to the cloud environment, without impacting mission capabilities. Goal is to maximize the use of community and commercial clouds on all three domains for agility, innovation, integrated intelligence, enhanced security and resource efficiency. This initiative will lead to the migration of several hundred
identified applications and systems from on-premise data centers to cloud environments. The program works with Government and contractor representatives from various unclassified and classified organizations in order to satisfy the goals of the Cloud program. The candidate will serve as a Cloud Computing Tech Specialist on the program’s cloud engineering and migration
teams. The successful candidate will have knowledge and experience working with Cloud computing, specifically Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft AZURE is essential. The successful candidate will also have strong customer service teaming skills, ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams, demonstrated ability/experience identifying and solving problems with reviewing related info to develop/evaluate options, and have the ability to implement solutions with minimal supervision/direction.
•Provide technical expertise on cloud computing techniques and technologies and expert advice to the program, and related cloud computing architectures.
•Assist customers with data integration and migration efforts, Research, evaluate, and deploy advanced cloud computing systems for clients in on the government site.
•Support a range of clients from front line analysts to researchers and senior leadership.
•Provide cloud-based application design and integration support.
•Interface with contractors and customer management to ensure progress on activities.
•Recommend and evaluate solutions to discrepancies and problems.
•Work as a key contributor on a collaborative and highly skilled engineering and migration team.
•Diagnosing and troubleshooting network performance issues.
•Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline with 12+ years of related experience. Additional years of experience and/or relevant certification may serve in lieu of a degree.
•Experience working with virtualization technologies and developing and implementing cloud migration strategies.
•Experience with DevOps pipeline tools and systems architectures (hardware, software, networking, and databases).
•Knowledge of network security and encryption hardware (firewalls, ACLs, etc.)
•Knowledge of InfoSec policies and procedures and ability to coordinate/communicate solutions with InfoSec.
•Demonstrated experience with containerization / Platform-as-a-Service technologies.
•Experience with web-centric programming languages such Ruby and Python.
•Experience with agile development methods such as SCRUM, XP, and/or SAFe Agile.
•Currently possess AWS or AZURE Certification.
•Currently possess Security+ or higher 8570 certification.
•Currently possess a DoD Secret security clearance or higher with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.
•Knowledge OF DoD organizations and programs.
•Experience using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative technical solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems, driving data driven decisions.
•Experience documenting technical requirements.
•Strong written and verbal communication skills.
