Leidos has a career opportunity for an Information Security Engineer within the Operations Team supporting the Australia Canada United Kingdom Reprogramming Lab (ACURL) and Norway Italian Reprogramming Labs (NIRL) Common Services Infrastructure (CSI) in Eglin, AFB, Florida.



This position is for an Information Assurance (IA) Engineer for the NIRL (F-35 Norway Italy Reprogramming Lab) program. This position will provide IA administration and technical guidance as part of the overall NORL Operations and Maintenance Team. The candidate will support IA/Cyber related assessments, evaluations, trade studies, and authority to operate (ATO) supporting DoD RMF (Risk Management Framework) and JSIG (Joint Special Access Program (SAP) Implementation Guide) compliance.  This position will support hands on Security Systems Administration, Configuration Management, and general operations support. Experience in Windows and/or Linux operating system, unified and interconnected networks and systems administration in heterogeneous environments.


The candidate will provide Leadership to various members of the team. The candidate will be part of a dynamic IA team working to capture, define, architect, design, develop, integrate, test and sell-off products to various government customers.


The candidate will focus on providing operational IA security support to both team members and customers to meet critical schedules and resolve critical/complex technical or operational problems.  



  • Apply Secure Technical Implementation Guidance (STIG) documents published by DISA IASE.
  • Review and appropriately apply security checklists published by DISA and appropriately apply security guides from industry sources.
  • Conduct integration, documentation, analysis, creation, testing and modifications to computer systems or programs.
  • Communicate users solutions.
  • Apply expertise with Microsoft Windows Servers, Linux/UNIX servers as well as implanting DoD STIGs on in both environments.
  • Effectively perform in a fast paced environment with multiple releases and multiple baselines.




  • Ability to maintain DoD 8570 certification of Security + or SSCP or SSNP or GSEC or CISSP.
  • Ability to work in an environment with evolving requirements and dynamic schedules.
  • Experience in network security and systems ATO.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated, outstanding internal and external customer relation skills.
  • Ability to provide guidance on DoD IA regulations and requirements to engineering staff and the IA team. 
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing security event log data (Windows, Linux/UNIX, Database).
  • Strong knowledge of computer vulnerabilities and exploits.
  • Solid understanding of networking, architectures and security elements to include anti-virus, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, routers and proxies.
  • Active Secret clearance or higher and investigation within last 5 years.
  • Minimum 3+ years in IT Systems/Information Assurance experience.
  • BS degree and 4+ years of relevant experience or MS degree and 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Additional years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.



  • Experience with DISA security tools and procedures (ESS and ACAS).
  • Experience with an SIEM tool such as Splunk.
  • Experience developing Pans of Action & Milestones (POA&M) to implement upgrades, patches and IAVAs.
  • Experience with Security Directives, Policies, Publications and Regulations.
  • Experience in configuring Windows/Unix / Linux security with implementation.
  • Experience with Configuration Management process.
  • Experience with equipment tracking and management programs for computer asset inventories.
