Leidos’ Defense & Intelligence Group has an opening for a Systems Administrator III. As a Systems Administrator you’ll be part of a team which provides IT repair, maintenance, operations, logistics, and engineering services to ensure secure, reliable, and uninterrupted availability of U.S. Army Military Intelligence Enterprise IT Systems. The successful candidate will perform Systems Administrator duties providing direct support to secure tactical communications suites both deployed and within a DoD enterprise environment.
This position supports a 1yr rotation between Jordan and Ft Bragg, NC, JMICS Service Center. Hours for support in Jordan are 12 hours a day, 7 days a week. When the suite is deployed to Jordan, the System Administrator will rotate in/out of Jordan from Ft Bragg, NC. When the suite is not deployed to Jordan, the System Administrator will reside with the suite at Ft Bragg, NC, US. Hours for support at Ft Bragg are 8 hours a day, 5 days a week.
The typical suite includes a SATCOM terminal, VTC suite, zero client workstations, and phones, in a self-contained mobile system on an M1113 Expanded Capability Vehicle. Each suite includes a Generator Set (GENSET), for the generation of electric power and an Environmental Control Unit (ECU) for heating and cooling.
What you’ll be doing:
  • Performs Preventive and Remedial Maintenance, User Support, On-Site Equipment Repair, and System Update.
  • Replace Installation/Removal, System Operations and Logistics, Scheduled Maintenance.
  • Perform System Administration and IT System Status Updates to provide mission critical services for JMICS and C-JWICS. 
  • Provides Tier I and II support at remote field and garrison sites.
  • May perform server and desktop installation, basic cabling, systems administration of desktop and server systems connected to local and wide area networks.
  • Desktop system management responsibilities involving account monitoring, security, Operating System (OS) installation, and other local area system administration related functions.
  • Capable of running a remote site by themselves with demanding customers in austere deployed or garrison locations. Must be able to load cryptographic keys and perform troubleshooting on many types of hardware and software.
  • Assist with documenting and cataloging systems for historical and information assurance purposes

What qualifications you’ll need to have:
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance
  • Bachelor’s Degree with 6 years of total experience, with at least 3 of relevant technical experience in the administration of networked desktop and server systems.  An additional 4 years of experience may serve in lieu of a degree.
  • DoD 8750 IA Certification at IAT II:  CompTIA Security+ Continuing Education (CE)
  • DoD 8750 Computer Environment (CE) Certification, such as CompTIA Server +, Cisco ICND1
Preferred Qualifications: 
  • CompTIA Network+ certification
  • Experience maintaining Vista, Windows 7, Server 2003, Server 2008, and Server R2 platforms
  • Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) / Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA)
  • MCITP: Enterprise Administrator on Windows Server 2008
  • MCITP: Server Administrator on Windows Server 2008
  • MCITP: Enterprise Messaging Administrator on Exchange 2010
