Leidos Defense and Intelligence Division is currently seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer located in Vienna, VA.

The employee will join a growing team of Information Assurance (IA) professionals providing Cybersecurity support to the Defense Healthcare Management System Modernization (DHMSM) system. Candidate will perform risk assessments and security testing as part of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) Assessment and Authorization (A&A) Process. 
The cyber security analysts will assess, analyze, and document vulnerabilities to information systems within the department in order to help the customer make informed risk-based decisions.  

Candidate will analyze system security in accordance with DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) on Windows and Unix systems, network devices (firewalls, routers, and switches), web server and database applications. 
Candidate is expected to understand and apply knowledge of INFOSEC principles to network protocols, architectures, equipment, services, standards and technology. 

The candidate is expected to support A&A process using DoD RMF Process to achieve a system Authority to Operate (ATO). This may include preparation of key documentation and planning and conducting security test and evaluation (ST&E), analytical and systems engineering for development of strategic plans and security architectures for DoD activities. 

Other support may include, assisting senior engineers with product research, evaluation and surveys of Cybersecurity tools and solutions. 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Typically requires BS degree and 2 – 4 years of prior relevant experience. 

Basic Qualifications:

- Serve as a task lead for a team of analysts performing A&As based on NIST SP 800-37 Rev. 1
- Manage pipeline of upcoming assessments and deconflict resourcing issues within overall A&A program
- Serve as escalation point for both customers and team
- Report status of A&A projects to Prime and to Government customer
- Develop, document, and implement process changes that lead to improved efficiency and depth of assessments
- Demonstrated ability to conduct root cause analysis when identifying problems
- Assessing security controls in accordance to security standards, frameworks, laws and policies
- Conducting security control assessment interviews with information system security stakeholders, collect and review artifacts and evidence for compliance with security controls, document and update security assessment results. 
- Ensure the quality assurance of security assessment results in system security packages
- Ability to interpret policies, procedures, standards, guidelines, and regulations to include National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA)
- Other duties as assigned
- Perform automated system security scans using Nessus
- Configure, scan and harden Windows and Linux systems
- Configure, scan and harden Oracle databases
- Conduct manual security checks for Windows/Linux systems (STIG checklist)
- Draft, track, and update technical reports
- Collect, track, and manage security artifacts and documentation
