The Hardware Support & Maintenance Technician will be part of a dynamic team to support US Army Central (ARCENT) G2 and supported customers throughout the ARCENT Area of Responsibility, with primary duty at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait. 
The successful candidate will have a demonstrated capability of diagnosing and resolving workstation and printer hardware problems, and troubleshooting these issues in person, over the phone, or through remote system access.  And, will perform specific scheduled maintenance resulting from manufacturers’ recommended service intervals, alerts and bulletins, available patches and updates, directions from the unit’s change management process, as well as other sources (to include Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVAs)).
In addition, the successful candidate will maintain the site’s hardware asset inventory in the Government's Army System Integration Database (ASID). The contractor shall employ ASID in accordance with the site’s configuration management and inventory controls processes.
  • Provide Tier1 Service Desk support to customers as part of a service desk team across multiple networks
  • Conducts hardware maintenance and minor installations on equipment listed in the specified task order and understands the inter-operational relationships of all components to the extent required to perform maintenance services
  • Complete basic and advanced hardware and infrastructure work as directed, including: running cable and cable management at both workstations and in server rooms, workstation installations and setup, checking UPS systems, replacing hardware components of laptops & desktops, basic printer maintenance
  • Undertakes minor system tasks (e.g., loading software, rebooting systems) in support of hardware maintenance
  • Installs and incorporates new releases, updates, or other changes to COTS hardware and software (diagnostics failures or potential failure predictions)
  • Operates and applies automated hardware management and diagnostics systems (to include remote management and diagnostics) and interprets findings to maintain, repair, or upgrade hardware
  • Plans, executes, and provides recommendations for preventative maintenance as approved by government personnel
  • Provides recommendations on spares, spares program, planning, and tracking operational spares and bench stock
  • Track all work in designated ticketing systems (such as Remedy), ensure completeness and accuracy of tickets, escalate issues as needed, and hand-off work between day or night shift
  • Track equipment in government designated systems (such as ASID) and assist property book and hand receipt personnel with inventories, identification of equipment, and proper disposal of equipment at end of life cycle
  • Schedule Video Teleconferences and de-conflict scheduled conferences as needed
  • Participate in or lead special projects and day‐to‐day operations as needed or assigned by the site lead, including surging to alternate locations for customer requirements or to backfill personnel during R&R or other absences

  • HS Diploma/GED + 8 years; or Associate’s + 6 years; or Bachelor’s degree + 4 years
  • 8140/8570.1-M IAT II Baseline Certification, such as: Security+|ce
  • Active TS/SCI access at time of hire 
  • Duty hours on-site are 12‐hours per day, 7 days a week, plus commute time and are subject to local labor law
  • On‐call 24x7, including weekends and holidays
  • Must have at least 36 months validity and 5 blank pages left on a U.S. passport.

  • Requires employee to obtain & maintain host nation work visa, including local/regional medical testing
  • Must be willing to live & work in the State of Kuwait or forward deploy to austere locations as directed, and follow all corporate and local site policies and host nation laws, customs, and courtesies.
  • Unaccompanied position includes off‐post housing and vehicle support provided by contract; however, operational requirements may dictate assignment and further deployment to austere locations as needed 
  • Experience with US Intelligence organizations and organizations in SWA a big plus. 
  • Additional Relevant Computing Environment (CE) Certifications such as MCP Windows 10, CompTIA A+ / Network+ certification, or Cisco CCENT
