Senior Systems Engineer
Leidos has an opening based at Montgomery, Alabama for a Sr. Systems Engineer.
The GCSS-AF Operations and Support team's primary focus is to ensure that capabilities are ready to be implemented in the production environment as well as meet the associated production service levels for availability, performance and issue resolution. This effort is to support the development, scheduling, deployment, and maintenance of IAVA patching for Operating Systems (OS) and third party application software on the GCSS-AF/CCE Infrastructure and Mission Applications. Primary hours of support are between 6:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday; however, on-call, weekend, and after hours support for package deployments and issue resolution is required.
Assesses and mitigates system security threats/risks throughout the program life cycles.
Validates system security requirements definition and analysis; implements security in software, data, and procedures; verifies security requirements. Performs system certification and accreditation planning and testing and liaison activities, and supports secure systems operations and maintenance.
Ensure software patches are applied across the GCSS-AF/CCE infrastructure in a timely manner by planning, scheduling and testing identified security patches
Report status of all patching activities to customer and program management
Assist in compiling Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert work packages to address vulnerability findings.
Interface with Information Assurance representatives to ensure system software meets DoD standards.
Managing daily validation that services and applications are implemented and operable in Pre-Production and Production environments, and ensure they meet associated service levels for availability and performance.
Conduct daily operation and maintenance support activities as required to ensure regular functionality of the GCSS-AF/CCE environments.
Provide on-call, weekend, and after hours support for package deployments and issue resolution, as needed.
Assist with GCSS-AF/CCE Tier II Helpdesk when volume of calls or staffing required assistance.
Share domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentorship and cross training to other peers and team members.

Education and Experience:
BS and 4 – 8 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 2 – 6 years of prior relevant experience.
CompTIA Security+ certification or higher.
Active DoD Secret Clearance to be considered.
Ability to communicate effectively, with excellent written and oral skills.
MS Windows Certification
Knowledge of DISA hosting environment
