Program Summary

Summary
An experienced System Administrator/Engineer is needed provide administration and operational support to our customer in Annapolis Junction. The candidate will need a proactive attitude, strong customer service skills, and the ability to integrate into an existing technical team comprised of contractors and government customers. To be successful in this role the candidate will need to demonstrate proficiency with Linux but also possess Windows knowledge. 
 
Primary Responsibilities 
Provide system administration/engineering solutions for RedHat 6.5 and CentOS 7 systems. The majority of the work will be accomplished with Linux, approximately 30% with Windows. The Admin/Engineer will also provide services to include user account administration, user access controls and management, installation and configuration of workstations and peripherals, kernel parameter and disk partition modification, client-server support, software and hardware upgrades, troubleshooting, and shell script programming. Other scripting/programming tools that will be used are Python, Bash and Perl. 




Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in related field of study. In lieu of degree, certifications and experience will be considered on a case by case basis
Four (4) or more years related experience
Within the last 3 years, experience with Network Information Service (NIS), Network File System (NFS), Domain Name System (DNS), and Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP). 
Within the last 3 years, a minimum of 1 year scripting experience using BOURNE Shell, C Shell or KORN Shell languages.
Within the last 3 years, a minimum of 1 year experience performing periodic system back-ups and developing/documenting standard operating procedures for these activities.
