Job Summary
Leidos National Security Operations is currently seeking a Senior Software Architect to work on a customer site in Reston, Virginia supporting the Target Assessment Technologies program. The candidate will build, test, and deploy a customer-centric web-based tool focusing on the visual construction of engineering products.

Primary Responsibilities

The candidate will work on-site with a dynamic team of engineers, scientists and other subject matter experts to develop and modify an agent-based toolset.
Daily responsibilities include developing new products, application interfaces and bug-fix remedies as well as performing product application integration.  The successful candidate will also oversee a junior software developer in coding and testing activities.

Activities in this position will include:

  • Participate in coding and testing;
  • Develop automated tools to perform product functional and vulnerability tests;
  • Interface with customer support activities;
  • Provide relevant fixes to identified problems;
  • Analyze complex system requirements;
  • Design software tools and subsystems to enable reuse;
  • Develop for efficient performance, maintenance and implementation;
  • Implement commercial packages;
  • Prepare required program and user level documentation;
  • Provide guidance in software development techniques;
  • Create detailed flow charts, programs, and tests;
  • Coordinate activities to ensure proper implementation according to specifications; develop system alternative solutions;
  • Prepare test plans and test data of cross domain system;
  • Participate in project reviews;
  • Develop and write computer programs to store, locate, and retrieve specific documents,
  • data, and information;
  • Analyze functional business applications and design specifications for functional activities;
  • Code, test, and debug new software or enhancements to existing software; and
Perform maintenance on existing software products and contribute knowledge of business applications.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Requires BS degree and 12 – 15 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 10 – 13 years of prior relevant experience. May possess a Doctorate in technical domain.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Candidate must possess BS degree and 12 – 15 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 10 – 13 years of prior relevant experience, or equivalent. May possess a Doctorate in technical domain. 
  • Candidate must possess skills in each of the following areas: 
  • Expert using Java Script
  • JAVA EE (Web services, Servlets, and JSPs)
  • Angular JS
  • XML (especially with respect to Java Script and Java CRUD operations)
  • J2EE Server Administration using Apache Tomcat, JBOSS, or Glass Fish.
  • Familiar with css

Preferred :

We especially welcome candidates with skills in open source XML Databases, web deployments, container architectures, DevOps, and open source graphing (e.g. mxGraph). Experience in modeling and simulation software packages such as AnyLogic or RePast would be of particular interest, as would experience working in a high performance computing (HPC) environment.
